-fun for one day-

Two year passed.
A year changes you a lot, let alone two years, (Y/N) has been through things. (Y/N)'s hair grew longer, her figure became more feminine rather than a child looking, her features become more sharp and her cheeks still tinted red but after all these changes, her going through menstrual cycle and puberty, she was still the same.

The girl looked up at the stars knowing damn well Camilo was looking at the same stars she was under, she become more mysterious but it took a turn as days passed by, inching closer to their graduation, she become more rebellious and happy yet grumpy at most times.

(Y/N) was missing Camilo every single day, she counted the days before she slept, hoping Camilo was doing the same. Even hoping if he still remember her, hoping if he kept the jar and counted the days.

At this point, she have counted 734 days, still in waiting. It was Friday, Another day. Saturday is almost there but Sunday will be the best of all, they just gotta wait a day later.

It was tea time, (Y/N), as always, has done her chores for she was more advanced. The girl wanted to quickly finish her chores so she could read books in the library, to keep her mind busy, that was her signature free time.
Other girls has noticed that about her, yet no one tried to invite her to any playground plays or to any fun activities.

None knew why, so they didn't.
"(Y/N)!" shouted Lily, she ran between two large shelves that (Y/N) was in, looking for books to read. (Y/N) raised an eyebrow and shushed Lily, placing her pointer finger on her mouth vertically "Shh, you're not suppose to shout in the library" Whispered (Y/N), wanting to be alone at the moment.

"Have you seen this book?" Ignoring what (Y/N) said, Lily handed the girl a book with pretty pictures, I meant as pretty as the woods whispering things into your ear as you pass by the unclear path.

"Nae," replied (Y/N), adapting some english slangs, feeling interested in the cover of the book. It was red with golden letters and scribbles. "You have to read this," replied Lily, grabbing (Y/N)'s wrist before dragging her to one of the tables that was placed in the middle of the gigantic library.
"What's the story about?" asked (Y/N), Lily's eyes widen at her question before quickly opening the red book, skimming through the pages.

"There once was a girl named Jane," as the story went on, (Y/N) listened as if she was imagining herself in Jane's situation.
Jane went through the woods, wanting to explore and meet a vicious creature.
Jane sneaked out of the abandoned house using her wise brain to keep her from getting eaten. Jane kept herself from starving by being wild and free, eyeing each creature carefully and experimented plants to see if they were poisonous or healthy to eat.

Lily continued the story, making it more interesting than the book itself. Their time was wasted according to the other students but the two didn't care, they love the book.
It was like they were soul sisters, they had similar interest yet they have disagreed on other things "How I wish to be just like Jane," dreamed Lily, her eyes fluttered as soon as she closed the book. The book wasn't thick, it was as thin as an unwritten notebook, clearly it was made for children as a bedtime story but it still amazed the girls "I have a brilliant plan," (Y/N) whispered, Lily looked at her and raised an eyebrow, confused.

Sunday, (Birthmonth), (birthdate) 1952.
Four weeks, 6 days of learning yet one day off, (Y/N) and the other girls has to go to church for an hour, do their chores, and stay inside the school.

Whispering and bickering, Lily, Fille, and (Y/N) sneaked outside the school, the trio crouched behind the white concrete boundary wall that separated the school and the forest, trying not to get caught.

"are you certain about this?" Fille asked for the fifth time making (Y/N) stop and turn towards her "do you wanna do this or not?" she was getting real tired of Fille complaining, whether they'd get caught or it's not unladylike to disobey simple school rules.

"have you read the school rules?" Fille questioned, pulling on (Y/N)'s wrist who shook it off "Oh, I've read them alright" (Y/N)'s reply was genuine yet mischievous "I read the rules," inching her face closer to Fille, only to scare her "before I break them" Lily quickly pulled the girls apart and huffed, mentioning to the other girls giggling and squealing on the other side, having fun and playing around "why are you even here anyways?" (Y/N) questioned, not remembering Fille coming along with their rebellious plan.

"I-I..." Fille bit her lip, not wanting to explain. (Y/N) raised her eyebrows before sighing "whatever," (Y/N) replied, mentioning to the others to follow her quietly towards the forest "we shouldn't be doing this, we'll be in big trouble! what if we get expelled?" (Y/N) was listening, she knew she was old enough to know better but she was still young enough to it anyway.

"you're only in trouble if you get caught, I'm surprised you even made it this far" (Y/N) commented, Lily groaned at the fighting girls. Fille was a year younger than Lily and (Y/N), she was one of the teacher's pet and just like (Y/N), she was a perfect A+ student.

"you two, stop it!" said Lily, furrowing her eyebrows in annoyance "tell that to yourself, we're already here" (Y/N) chuckled, pushing a branch of tree away from their faces to show the beautiful scenery.

It was a small height cliff.
It wasn't hidden, you can see the lake from the school tower. It was a small portion of lake but big enough to sail some kind of boat around it, (Y/N) have been planning to come and visit this place for it reminded her of the pond. It was the only reason why she wanted to be free because according to her, she'd prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery "It's seems like a long way down," Lily stated, looking down to the water below the cliff "If I can handle the past, I can deal with this shit" with that, she jumped in.

No one greeted (Y/N) happy birthday, she never told anyone, she told herself that no one deserves to know her better than her lover.
And there he was, always waiting for her.

Camilo has been waiting for (b/m) (b/d), jumping in the pond as he yelled in delight "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" the pond was cold but it wasn't enough to let Camilo freeze while he swam around.

Joshua (the priest) had been visiting very often. At this point, the priest joked around telling people he might consider moving to Encanto, but since there was already a priest, he understood that there was no need for another one.

Joshua informed Camilo a year ago, The priest thought Camilo deserves to know when his lover's birthday is, thinking it would make the boy feel better. Wrong, Joshua could tell Camilo every terrible thing (Y/N) has done, and yet let Camilo tell him how much he loves her. The loverboy knew his lover, she was broken and isolated. Camilo told himself once she comes back, they'll heal each other no matter how complicated it gets.

The priest would tell stories about (Y/N), It made Camilo realize how much he'll miss her and how much he'll ought to know about her lover.

Sometimes, It made him feel unappreciated for (Y/N) not opening up to some things "Best time of year for children, worst for (Y/N)" Camilo looked away from his handkerchief, looking at Señora with an unreadable look "s-she told me-..." Camilo stopped himself mid-sentence before shaking his head "I love her," Camilo knew (Y/N) will tell him herself soon, he was waiting, he was counting.

"!" Camilo jumped in the pond in joy, celebrating (Y/N)'s birthday all by himself.

Between two lovers,
It's all a bit tragic, really, isn't it?
