-Accepting Legacy-

It was a great night, wasn't really perfect.
(Y/N) wasn't enjoying the party because of things running through her mind.
Excusing herself from Caira and Klaus, she turned Antonio's door know and went outside to get some fresh air because partying was not just her cup of tea, especially when it's the whole town.

Sighing as soon as she smelled the fresh air, she noticed a girl with curly hair down the stairs with small sobs.

"Hello?" (Y/N) called out, the girl gasped and turned around to see (Y/N) with a worried look on her face as she walked down the stairs "Oh! uhm..." The girl turned around and puckered her lips in an awkward smile "Mirabel, right?" (Y/N) questioned, Mirabel raised and eyebrow not really expecting the Dela Cruz to know her despite the fact that they held conversations once or twice before.

Mirabel nod and giving a small smile trying to be friendly and to hide the fact that she was sulking earlier.

"what are you doing out here?" (Y/N) asked. The girl thought that all Madrigals were be together for the Madrigals picture taking earlier, it made her curious to why Mirabel was out here alone.

Mirabel didn't want the girl to know so she shrugged and looked at (Y/N) "I was about to ask the same question" Mirabel chuckled and walked closer to the stairs to where (Y/N) was standing.

"Were yout thinking about things too?" (Y/N) frowned and looked down at her feet as she thinks about the legacy. It still amazed her that Antonio would serve the community and the Madrigals miracle without hesitation. If (Y/N) knew it was that easy to choose, she would've said something she was confident with earlier with the priest.

Wait, halt! This gave her an idea!

Mirabel parted her lips to say something when (Y/N) jumped down the last set of stairs and walked towards Mirabel.

"You once got a gift ceremony!" (Y/N) stated. As she moving closer to Mirabel's face, eager to know and ask questions. Mirabel stared at (Y/N) before moving away from her a little bit letting the girl recognize some personal space.

"Y-Yes?" (Y/N) nodded and looked at the sky.
Mirabel got her gift, she also got a gift ceremony and the others before her so it's most likely for Abuela to ask them the same questions for the Madrigals generation.

"When you got your gift, did you agree to honor the Miracle too?" (Y/N) questioned. It was weird to ask someone personal things especially when you just met them.

Mirabel's eyes sadden and nodded anyways, (Y/N) did not notice or just ignored it thinking it was just the trick of light plus the glasses.

"Do you think," The girl thought for a moment, trying to find the right words to say "I should continue the family Dela Cruz legacy?" Mirabel was a little confused "why would you ask me that?" (Y/N) shook her head and shrugged, not really knowing why she asked her "would you do it?" (Y/N) continued "Even if your family didn't care or rather, never really acknowledge the fact that you're also a human being?" Mirabel knew where this was going and it was tearing her apart to hear (Y/N)'s words "would you still agree to honor your family tradition? If so,"

"would you do it for the family or for yourself?" Mirabel thought for a moment and looked down "I'll do it for the family, it doesn't matter if they don't acknowledge me. I just want to support the family I love" Mirabel responded.

(Y/N) took in her words and looked down "Do you have other reasons why you decided to honor your family legacy?" The two girls chatted as they sat down on the stairs.

"I do," Mirabel nodded and fiddled with her thumbs "I'd do it for my dreams, people I love, and even help nature" Mirabel chuckled and snorted making (Y/N) smile "mainly for me" Mirabel commented sheepishly.

"Then," Without anymore doubt "I shall continue my family legacy..." This time, she accepted the legacy not to honor her parents but to reach for her dreams and be different from her parents. To be pure and beautiful instead of cruel and miserable.

(Y/N) Dela Cruz will continue the Dela Cruz legacy but this time will be different, instead of harming people to work, she will let people do what they love while still in the business!

"Thank you, Mirabel" (Y/N) smiled and reached to her pocket to look at the letter her Aunt gave her. The girl stared at the envelope trying to scan what's inside or rather, trying to visualize the possibilities of what was written inside the envelope. Maybe, It's best to think about it tomorrow and talk to the priest about the business.

Pushing the envelope back to her pocket, (Y/N) turned her head to look at Mirabel and maybe ask another few questions "you know, I never got to know your gift" (Y/N) brought up. The girl was curious but then again, the girl didn't mean to hurt Mirabel's feelings if the question was too personal.

Mirabel's breath hitched and looked down to the floor with a sad look "I-I...didn't get one" (Y/N)'s eyes widen and looked at the girl with utter shock "what? why?" Mirabel shook her head and gripped on her skirt, not really wanting to talk about being giftless. (Y/N) pursed her lips and shook her head in dismay at herself for asking such.

"I-I shouldn't have brought that up, Camilo was right-" (Y/N) stopped as soon as she heard a crack.

Mirabel looked at (Y/N), asking if she knew what it was but of course, the girl had no idea what the cracking noise was.

Mirabel and (Y/N) stood up from their seats and walked towards the noise only to find a broken roof tile on the floor. Mirabel questioned as she crouch down to the ground and ran her hand to the sharp edges of the roof tile while (Y/N) stood close by to watch from afar.

Mirabel hissed and dropped the tile making (Y/N) gasp "Mirabel?" The ground shook, Mirabel glued her eyes to the floor "Casita?" the girls gasped when the floor cracked and spread out. Cracking sounds, Mirabel stood up from the ground and grabbed (Y/N)'s hand in case something happens.

The two followed the cracks, (Y/N) noticed that it started to spread across the walls and the ceiling. Mirabel's breathing quickens when she saw her Abuelo Pedro's painting wobble at the cracks. In an instant, Mirabel mentioned (Y/N) to follow her and run upstairs. As the cracks rapidly spread from each glowing door, the light flickered as it passed by.

By this point, Mirabel already knew where the cracks was heading. (Y/N)'s eyes followed the cracks and gripped on the blue railing to stop herself from getting our of balance because of the shake. Mirabel squinted her eyes and stared at the cracks that was heading straight to the candle.

The cracks reached the candle making the fire flicker "I thought the candle doesn't extinguished" (Y/N) questioned, not knowing what to do in this situation making Mirabel grab her shoulders and panic.

"We need to get Abuela!" Mirabel ordered.
