-Once upon a time-
Once upon a time, there once was an island princess who built walls around her kingdom, unable to feel and unable to be free, unable to see what's beyond the reef.
One day, the one of the sea goddess grew furious at the sight of the selfish girl. The goddess grabbed her spear and created a hurricane that could drown lands and the waves that could be as tall as the mountains, the event occurred and washed away the walls that the island princess built around herself.
Though, it was not a bad thing. Upon seeing the washed away walls the island princess created, she felt scared and broken to see that her hard work was washed away in one hurricane. One day, you're going to look at someone and say 'I have survived' There is a great satisfaction in that, Even more if the person staring back comes from your mirror.
Seeing how the outside world was dark and harsh, she had a reason to stay strong and be brave. Searching for a land for hours, she set sailing day and night for a glimpse of land when suddenly, someone found her.
It was the island prince, he had found her.
It's hard to know what to say to someone who feels lost, so the island prince stood by the island princess' side in the wind and the rain, He will be her lighthouse she need. The prince took her hand and guided her home.
(Y/N) looked around her room, examining the room one last time "Come my dear," Hermanita called, standing by the door with her keen eyes watching the girl's every move, judging her "Aye, mother" (Y/N) replied, only she could hear, her grip on her suitcases tightens as if it was time that she'd never want to let go.
Outside, People from town waiting but mostly, The Madrigals. They have grown quite fond of the girl and they were sad to let her go, Mirabel comforting Antonio while Camilo placed his hands on the twins' shoulders, Señora Guzman walked in the room and wiped her tears with a silk handkerchief.
"I must say, these people does not know about privacy" Hermanita stated, leaning closer to the open window "They will miss her," Señora replied, looking at (Y/N) knowing the stars in her eyes have left before she could wish on them "I suppose it's better for (Y/N) to leave early, saving tears before she gets too dehydrated" How much they hated her, The new Fernando walked outside while Hermanita, bid her goodbyes to the Guzmans and the Madrigals saying how much Hermanita appreciates their care for (Y/N).
(Y/N) looked at the carriage, not wanting to look behind her as people cry. The girl gripped the jar in her hands, afraid of letting it go, her wishes.
Mirabel saw how blue her friend was so she walked over to her "(Y/N)?" She called, placing a hand on her shoulder wanting her to look at her "once you come back, visit us?" the corner of (Y/N)'s lips frowned as if she was trying to prevent her tears from falling as she nodded, wrapping her arms around the girl who she grew fond of, happy that she have met her.
Klaus and Caira bid their goodbyes, for they knew it was a long wait. Suddenly, (Y/N)'s lover walked towards her, hand on his chest. It aches him to see her in such a beautiful dress knowing how much he helped her grow "I wish we could grow together," Camilo whispered, his eyes burning from the tears that he had cried.
It was her first time seeing Camilo grieve, his tan face became red, his freckles became visible as he furrowed his eyebrows feeling a lump in his throat that he couldn't cough.
"I feel as though I am always writing my first draft, as though my life is a series of edits that I never have time to complete" The girl whispered, placing her forehead on Primo's, ignoring the town people's eyes.
"but I tell you. If I ever finish my first draft, please know that it will end up with us" Tears escaped her eyes, her lashes wet from the salty tears that she cried. Camilo wanted to say how much he love her but there are always too many words to describe the way he is feeling. So why then, when it comes time to say these words, do we lose them?
Let's be frank- there are times it feels the whole world is falling apart. You cannot compare your pain to others' so why respond with "someone else has it worse"? Pain is immeasurable when it's felt because in that moment it feels like it's the worst pain on earth.
"Keep my wishes for me, will you?" The girl whispered, (Y/N) handing the stars in jars to Camilo who slowly took it "I want you to throw away the stars once it has come true so when I come back, I'll know how much you've accomplished without me" These words broke her heart, scared how much Camilo would grow without her staying by his side.
Camilo shook his head "I can't," (Y/N) nodded as if disagreeing with Camilo "you'll never know" This was it. There will be nothing more but life has plans for all people, Even if those plans separate them. No matter where their lives takes them, they will yearn for each other whether there are thousands of miles between them or none at all.
"I love you,"
their lips connected once more,
There are a lot of words said in this chapter, As (Y/N) sat down inside the carriage she regret kissing Camilo goodbye for both of them craved for each other.
"HYA!"
Camilo knew what he was going to say as he watched the carriage move away, he had rehearsed his goodbye over and over again, but he left without a word.
(Y/N) knew she will miss how Encanto's trees change from season, how much she have discovered and how much she have change.
Spring has replaced winter, trees and flowers bloomed once more. It hurts a little and sometimes a lot when you care about someone but both of you are kind of messy and the timing is all wrong and you don't feel kissing someone else but we're only haunted by things we refuse to accept.
In scene, a veiny feminine hand gently stroke the key to which she have not touched in a while. Señora pulled the door closed, she thought to herself that it was okay to close some doors, hell, it's even okay lock them.
The image of the room lingered behind the back of her mind, how it looks so empty yet the air could barely fit in.
Camilo looked at the jar, how their wishes took the spaces of the medium sized jar. Picking one star that he wrote, looking through it before throwing it on the ground.
'her'
At this point, you must hate me for writing such story. Fine, make me your villian. I either stop this book and delete the few chapters to give you a happy ending or I could continue this book and break myself.
maybe it's not about the happy ending, maybe it's about the story itself that is beautifully written on a piece of paper where the author enjoys their time understanding what it really means to be alive.
