Ch.12: Vacation and Surprise Visits

I walk away and make my way to the food court. Ash and the girls follow me, I get food and find a table. I sit down, the girls get food as well and join me at the table.

I stop when my phone starts ringing. I pull my phone out from my pocket and check the caller ID I sigh when I notice it's my uncle calling me.

I quickly get up and walk away. I sigh and click accept. I hold the phone up to my ear.

"What the hell do you want?"

"Hello to you too." He says.

I turn around and look at the girls they all look at me and watch me worried and concerned. I clench my jaw and run my fingers through my hair.

"What do you want asshole?"

"I want you, you see since your parents are gone..... I'm responsible for you." He says.

"Nah. I'm not going with you. You want to keep bugging me about this, be my guess I'll get lawyer. I'll take your sorry ass to court."

"I don't think you heard me kid, I'm getting custody of you and I'm taking you in." He says.

"Oh I heard what you said. But I don't think you heard what I said, you aren't getting custody of me. I've already been adopted and I'm not leaving them."

I say to him looking over at the girls. Ash and Ali get up and come over to me.

"Yeah sure kid. See you soon." He says.

"Yeah sure. You can count on it." I say.

I hangup and put my phone back into my pocket.

"What's wrong? You okay?" Ali asks.

"Yeah sorry guys I didn't mean to worry you. I was just talking to my asshole uncle.

"Come on kid. Please don't swear." Ali says.

"What happened? What did he say?" Ash asks.

"He wants custody of me. He wants to take me to court, he wants me to convince them that he is capable of raising me. I said no, the man is a monster and belongs behind bars." I say.

Ash and Ali stay quiet. They hug me, "It's okay kid. We're gonna get through this together." Ali says.

I hug them back. "Thank you guys."

We got go over to the girls I sit there and just play with my food. After the phone call I just lost my appetite. "I'll be back I'm gonna go to the bathroom."

They nod. I get up and make my way to the bathroom. I go into a stall, I lock the door and sit there. I go to the bathroom but stay in there longer after I finish doing my business.

I hear someone come into the bathroom. "Hey kid, you okay in there?" It was Tobin.

"Yeah just using the bathroom."

I unlock the stall door and open it. I wash my hands and dry them off, I wrap an arm around Tobins shoulder as we walk out.

We walk back over to the girls. Ash stops in front of me worried. "Hey you okay? You barely touched your food."

"Yeah I'm okay. Phone call just made me lose my appetite." I say.

She nods. "Okay, if you get hungry later just let me know and we can get you something to eat."

I nod. Sloane was in Ali's arms, she looks over at me. I smile and walk over to her.

"Hi little one." I say.

She smiles and giggles. Ali smiles and hands her over to me, I smile and kiss Sloane on the cheek.

She smiles and places her hands on my cheek. I smile and kiss her cheek again. "You wanna go to the Disney store and buy some new toys?"

She starts making baby noises. I smile and carry her into the Disney store. We go into the Disney store, Ash and them go to another store leaving you and Sloane together for quality bonding time.

"You want some new Disney princess toys?" I ask. She giggles as I show her the princess toys. I buy her some new princess toys, we leave and go into build a bear next.

"You wanna build a spider girl bear?" I ask. She giggles and places her hands on my cheeks.

"I take that as a yes." I say. We go over to the machine and start picking the designs and things for the bear. I finish picking all the designs and click build.

Ash and them walk in as the bear is about to finish. They all gasp and awe when they see the bear that you are building her, the bear is finished on being made. The worker grabs the bear, he puts the bear in a box and then hands it to you.

You thank the worker and pay for the bear. You guys leave the build a bear shop and walk around trying to figure out what to do next.

"You wanna hold your new bear?" I ask Sloane. She just makes baby noises, I smile. I take the bear out of the box and hand it to her. She giggles and makes baby noises as she holds the bear.

Ash takes her phone out of her pocket and checks the time. "Well I think that's enough shopping for today. We should start heading back it's already 6 o'clock." Ash says.

You guys decide to call it a day and head back to the hotel. We start making our way to the entrance we came in from.

We find the exit we came in from and leave the mall. We all get into the van that we rented for camp and drive back to the hotel.

We get back to the hotel, we all get out. I was the first one out, as everyone else is getting out. I look around and scan the surroundings.

My spider senses start going off as I look around. Ash and Ali notice that I'm on edge. Ash and Ali hug me and hold me in their arms.

"Hey."

I don't says anything or pay attention to them, as I continue looking around.

"Gwen?"

I snap out of thought out of thought as Ash calls my name again.

"S-Sorry. Just thought I heard and saw something...." I let out a awkward chuckle. "Darkness playing tricks on me."

Ash doesn't say anything and decide to not push it any further. She hesitates for a moment but nods hesitantly.

Ali doesn't say anything she just gives me a questioning look. They let go of me and walk into the hotel, the rest of the girls following them.

Rest of the camp was boring. Nothing special happened, Sadly Tobin got injured and tore her ACL when they played Canada.

All of the girls have gone home once camp was over besides, Ash and Us. We were at the airport waiting for our flight to be called.

We were going on vacation and paying Tobin a surprise visit.

After a while our flight gets called. We bored the plane and take off. The world gets smaller as we get into the air.

Don't worry Tobin. We'll be there soon, I miss you already best friend.
