A Spy love story

Chapter 30- better positions

We were transported to the agency, where all the criminals were placed in jail cells and all equipment used was placed neatly back in the lab to be improved and repaired if necessary.
Mr. Wright had called us to a meeting to discuss the mission that had just taken place. Everyone was in the new spacious office: my family, Jen, Danielle, Henry, Joshua and I.
" now I'm pleased to announce that those criminals have indeed worked with mr. Robertson and that those are all his henchmen, hopefully." He said starting off confidently before seeming a bit unsure. " The mission was a great success for all of us and I have seen the great spy work of two persons that I didn't even notice much. Oh yes I knew my girls were awesome spies, but Henry that was the best tech work I've seen in years and I would love to make you the head of the technology department for the agency." he continued. Henry looked overjoyed, speechless and just plain shocked at what he had heard before speaking.
"Would I!?" He said in a cheery voice before he cleared his voice and continued, "I would love take up that position sir, thank you."
" very well" Mr. Wright said looking proud.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Jen said.
"Yea, you said two persons, remember sir." Danielle said quickly after.
"Awe yes, of course." Sir replied seeming even more proud than before.
" the second person is my very own son, Joshua."
"Me?!" He said with his expression quickly changing from patient and quiet to shocked and dumbfounded. We all seemed shocked.
"Don't act shocked, the way you studied their fighting strategy and used it against them, used a sharp key chain to cut free and to save me and just the way you stayed calm in the life or death situation.
"Well I trained with Sarah before and I always end up in strange situations so I got used to being in them and getting out of them. Plus I was obsessed with spy shows for 2 years when you left." He said remembering his horrible past and going into a sad trance that I would have done anything to get him out of.
" I'm sorry for that son, I am, but I'm here now and I would like you to be a regular agent here, if you'd like to." Mr. Wright said afterwards quite sympathetically and shyly which had surprised me for these were new sides of him. Joshua's sad expression changed and I was so glad.
" I would love to be a spy since they aren't as bad as they seem," he said looking at me with passion and love in his eyes before continuing," but on one condition, Sarah needs to stay a spy and be a music star."
I smiled for only a few moments before I remembered something so important that no one in my position would have forgotten: I did not complete my record deal meeting with one of my idols.
"You okay, you don't have to, you know?" He said awakening me from my thoughts looking very worried and concerned at my sudden change in mood.
" I didn't complete the meeting, I had to save you all." I said hesitantly with glossy eyes.
"What but it was your dream?!" He said with even more concern shown on his face along with shock and sympathy.
" yeah, well your all my dream now."
"We're so sorry, Sarah." Jen and Danielle said together before hugging me.
"That's odd because I know Carmen and she called from Starlight records saying how she wanted to find you and give you this package." Mr. Wright says handing out a small rectangular box wrapped in brown packaging paper.
"I don't know what this could be and how did she know you would know?" I asked curious and very confused.
" she said you ran over to Joshua at the end of some video and that he looked a lot like me since he's my son and so she just thought to call me."
"Well open it." Henry said urging me to open up the package. I felt like someone opening up a college acceptance letter to see if I got in or not but this was way more important, it was my dream. As I am about to start unwrapping the package Joshua spoke.
"Wait!..., just promise me no matter what you'll stay a spy, your too good at it to give it up." He said looking sad.
I turned to him and smiled slightly. "It's apart of me and so are you so of course I will." My words seemed to restore him
to his happy self for he slowly and shortly kissed me right afterwards. Though the kiss was short lived I loved. Every second of it. I turned back around to face the package that was placed on Mr. Wright's desk in the office.
I slowly and neatly unwrapped the package and found a small rectangular cardboard box. I opened up the box to find the piece of paper I threw away when I entered the meeting. I felt so disappointed and confused. I didn't know if there was going to be a letter of acceptance or a business card or a message from Bobby Jones giving me a second chance inside but I surely didn't think I would find a crushed piece of paper.
"It's just a piece of paper?!" Danielle said with a raised voice.
"Huh, that's strange." Joshua said behind me.
" I threw this away when I entered the meeting boardroom, it was just a major hazard on the ground." I said with the crumbled up paper in my hands.
" wait look, open it up." Jen said spotting black ink on one edge of the crumbled piece of paper. I did what she said and found words printed in black ink. I read it out for everyone to hear.
If you are the person that has picked this paper you are observant, kind, good and not a procrastinator. You have proven yourself worthy in the music industry that is full of competitors and bad people. You are just what Starlight Records needs. Many before you have failed this test and it proves you are more than worthy.

I saw written words underneath the print and read them aloud as well:
I love that you were willing to check on your family's safety over your dream, something others would find difficult to do and I want to apologize if I came on a bit unpleasant for I was stressed at work not that it is a valuable excuse. I would love for you to join our company, just sign the contracts and read the pamphlets sent and call me when you have made your decision.I hired a lawyer for you to help you with the contracts, the number is on my card inside the package.

When I had finished Jen and Danielle both were taking contracts, small colourful pamphlets and a small business card from the box which were covered with packaging stuffing. I was so relieved and overjoyed. Everyone was so happy for me. I was the happier than I thought I could ever be as I spent the rest of the day with Joshua, Jen, Danielle and Henry celebrating, reading pamphlets, contracts, business cards; talking to Elizabeth, my lawyer; arranging with Bobby Jones and sorting out my dream extremely pleased with my achievement.
Who knew that one small piece of paper could be so important? It really makes me think that even my smallest deeds that seem to affect no one really do count.
/well this book is ending sadly just 1 more chapter or 2 not sure yet. TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY AND I HIT 1001 VIEWS a few days ago and Wattpad wished me a happy birthday which inspired my update.
