"Crazy how my momma a believe a random teacher instead of the child she birthed." Some boy in my Child Development classroom leaned back into his seat & ranted.

"Da'Jaunte, if you continue to disrupt my classroom you'll be asked to leave." Ms. Smith, took a short break from her class instruction to speak to him.

"Can I go to Coach class?" He disregarded what she said & suggested.

"No, you're staying in your own classroom. If I have to speak with you again, I'll be sending you to the principal's office." She responded and he fell silent.

"Okay, so back to what I was saying before I was rudely interrupted..... School is coming to an end, and as some of you may know, graduation is just a few weeks away."

School was really coming to an end and I couldn't wait! I was excited to start the new chapter in my life and see what God had in store for this new me.

The only thing I wasn't feeling ready for was seeing all of the kids I've known since middle school standing in alphabetical order in caps and gowns alongside each other— then never ever seeing them again! I was always going to have this thought, even if I disliked school most of the time.

"Well, graduation for the most of you." I caught Ms Smith's shady response towards those who weren't passing, as she tried hiding her chuckle.

"Now you know you wrong for that Ms Smith." A girl in our class spoke, gaining a few other laughs.

"No, but on a more serious note— A couple of individuals aren't earning enough credits, so the school is attempting to offer those people a chance before it's too late." Ms. Smith looked at her notes, checking things off. "I encourage those of you that need it to use it wisely. Or else, I'll be seeing you next year."

"I believe that's all I have for you guys class today, so that'll wrap up everything because the bell is going to be ringing in— 3..... 2..... 1....."

**BELL RINGS**

"You're dismissed! Have a wonderful evening, guys!" Ms.Smith waved us off and walked back to her desk.

After a hard day at school, the day had finally come to an end & it was time for us to go home.

I headed out the classroom and down the crowded hallway to catch my bus since my car was still in the shop. But, my backpack was randomly snatched from behind, causing me to come to a stop in the middle of the hall.

"What the—" I stopped, then turned around, and seen Siah standing behind me. "Unt unnn. You just almost got punched in your shit. Don't be doing me like that or I'll tell my man."

"You know you wasn't finna do nun. Stop the cap." Siah released his hold from off my backpack. "And who the fuck yo man, girl?"

"It's a secret." I whispered with a smile forming on my face. "Okay! You about to make me miss my busss, why'd you stop me?"

"C'mon, you riding with us." He put his arm around my shoulder and started guiding us towards the other exit for car riders.

"Us? Who is us? Yo family?" I stopped in the middle of my tracks and turned my head, causing him to do the same.

"Yeah, me & yo man. Shit mothafuckas family." He rubbed his hands together like Birdman.
