"Unc Sev, I put my trash in your bag." Lani waved her trash in the air, from the backseat.

I was with Brook and Lani today. We was goin' to see my momma, cus' she wanted to meet Brooklyn.

Lani just happened to be with me today, since I told Bando and Lay I'd keep a watch on her while he and Malayah talked about something important.

"Hand it to me." I reached my hand towards the backseat and grabbed the wrapper from her McDonald's Happy Meal toy.

"We go to see your mommy?" She asked, taking a sip from her chocolate milk bottle.

"Yeah, we finna see my momma." I chuckled and turned the car off. "Put that stuff in yo bag so we can go in."

"Okay."

"Wait, you ain't tell me yo momma was in theree." Brooklyn sounded scared.

"Uhh... My momma inna house." I looked over at her with a side eye, confused on why she wanted to know. "Why you needed to know that?"

"Because I never saw her in person." She responded, obviously nervous.

"You scared or sum?"

"Uhh, yes... What if she's mean?"

I laughed at from how serious she was because my momma wasn't even mean to other folks.

She was actually friendly as hell.

"She ain't finna be mean to you. Unless sheon like you..."

"Seee, if don't like me, then she'll start being— Oh my Godd." Brooklyn rested in the passenger seat, her seat reclined all the way back and her arm draped over her face.

"We finna see. C'mon." I opened the door so that I could grab Lani from the backseat.

When we made it into the house, my momma was in the kitchen cooking sum while listening to her 90's music.

"Nanaaaa!" Lani dragged, eagerly running over to my momma and hugged onto her leg.

Lani always looked at my momma as her grandma, despite the fact that she was not biologically related to her.

In my momma's eyes Bando was her older son since he was always around.

"Heyy, baby." My momma smiled, placing a kiss on Lani's cheek.

My momma glared at Brooklyn and continued playing with Lani also.

"Hey, how you doing?" My momma waved at Brooklyn, who was walking close by me.

"I'm fine. How are you?" Brooklyn spoke as she waved back at my momma.

"Pretty good. Thanks for asking." My momma responded, sounding a little taken back. "You hungry?"

"Yeahh. It smell good in here too." Brooklyn said as she inhaled the scent of food.

"Thank you, baby. It's almost done, so you'll be eating real soon."
