📍STL – MO📍

"Unc Sev, I put my trash in your bag?" Lani held her trash in the air, while she sat in the backseat of my car.

I'm chilling with Brook and Lani today. We just going to see my folks crib— because my momma wanted to meet Brooklyn.

Lani just happened to be with me today, since I told Bando and Lay I'd keep a watch on her while he and her talked about something important.

"Hand me it." I reached my hand towards the backseat and grabbed the trash from her McDonald's Happy Meal toy.

"We go to see your mommy?" She asked, taking a sip from her chocolate milk bottle.

"Yeah, we finna see my momma." I chuckled and turned the car off. "Put that stuff in yo bag so we can go in."

"Okay."

"Wait— You didn't tell me your mom was in there, Sevenn." Brooklyn whined, as her face held a frightened look.

"Uhh... My momma inna crib." I just looked over at her with a side eye. "Why you needed to know that?"

"Because I never saw her in person, Seven." She responded, obviously nervous. "I'm scared."

"Why you scared?"

"What if she mean?"

I laughed at how serious she was because my momma wasn't even mean to folks. If anything she was friendly as can be.

"She ain't finna be mean to you....Unless sheon like you."

"Seee! What if she don't like me? Then she'll start— Oh my goshh." Brooklyn rested in the passenger seat, her seat reclining all the way back & her arm draped over her eyes.

"We finna see. C'mon, Ma." I opened her door & grabbed her hand, so that I could also grab Lani out the backseat.

When we made it in the house, my momma was in the kitchen cooking some while she listened to her R&B music.

"Nanaaaa!" Lani dragged, eagerly running over to my momma and hugged onto her leg.

Lani always looked at my momma as her grandma, despite the fact that she was not biologically related to her. In my momma's eyes Bando was her older son since he was always around.

"Heyy, baby." My momma smiled, placing a kiss on Lani's cheek.

My momma glared at Brooklyn and continued playing with Lani also.

"Hey." My momma waved at Brooklyn, who clung close by me. "How you doing, honey?"

"I'm fine. How are you?" Brooklyn spoke & waved back to my momma.

"Pretty good. Thank you asking." My momma responded, sounding a little taken back. "You hungry?"

"Yess. It smells so good in here." Brooklyn savored in the aroma of the foods cooking, while taking in a deep breath.

"Thank you, baby. It's almost done, so you'll be able to eat real soon."

"Would you like help with anything?" Brooklyn suggested.
