"Let me tell you a secret, I been secretly banging your homeboyyy. Why you in Vegasss all up on Valentine's Dayyy?" As Brook finished filing the fingernail of her eighth client today, she hummed the lyrics to Supermodel by SZA, which was playing softly through her AirPods Pro's.
"You can go wash your hands at that sink over there, babe." Brooklyn spoke to her client and watched her raise her head with a nervous smile on her lips.
"Okay." She stood up from the seat, and walked towards the sink.
Brooklyn could tell she was a shy customer because she rarely spoke and spent the majority of the service on her phone, but Brook didn't force her to speak because she was the same way sometimes.
This was going to be her last client for the day, but she was still completely exhausted and ready to change out of her work clothes, so she could shower and cuddle up with her boyfriend.
"What color and design you getting today, love?" Brook questioned as the young teen returned back to the chair across from her.
"You can just freestyle and do your thing, I really just want it to include orange. I love orange." She said smiling, causing Brook to do the same exact thing and get excited.
She genuinely loved it when her clients let her do whatever she wanted with their nails. She believed it assisted her in exploring with various ideas and styles.
"Brook you want anything from Chipotle or somewhere else around here? I'm going to get me and my auntie something." Malayah stood up from her chair with her keys in her hand, since she was going on her break in a few minutes.
"Yes ma'ammm. You could just get me something from Chipotle and I'll Cash App you the money."
"It's fine. Just text me your order then I'll pay and bring it back for you." Malayah spoke, as she grabbed her phone and the rest of the things she needed from her station.
"You sure?" Brooklyn asked with her eyebrows raised.
"Girl, yes. This is the least I could do for having y'all stuck with Kaylani bad self that last time at such late timing." She said with a chuckle.
"Oh, you're good. Lani not even that bad." Brook waved her off with the opposite hand she was using to paint her clients nails.
"Well, you go ahead and finish this set, I'll be back in a minute," Malayah replied, feeling like she was lying. She knew her daughter was a handful, but the way Brooklyn tried to sugarcoat it made it even more hilarious to her.
"Okay. Thank you, Lay." Brooklyn looked up from from the task she was doing and flashed Malayah a pearly smile.
"It's no problem, girl." As she proceeded towards the door, she returned the smile and opened it, hearing the doorbell ring.
