"Oh, wow." Monique, Seven's mom, focused her attention on the 75" TV that hung on her living room wall. "Y'all see all them kids that went missing a couple weeks ago?"

As she said that, Seven was walking down the stairs and Brooklyn was lifting her head up from the salad she was eating, the one Monique also made for them.

"Nah, ion be watching the news like that." Seven walked in the kitchen where everyone else was,  and grabbed a water bottle from the refrigerator.

"This the exact reason I be telling Messiah to chill out and stay his ass in this house." Monique shook her head, watching all the teens pop up on the TV screen.

Brooklyn watched the kids pop up on the screen also, recognizing one of them to be Niyah.

When she saw Niyah's picture, she damn near choked on the water she was drinking.

"Ma, I'm damn near grown." Siah sucked his teeth, from the couch he was sitting on. "You—"

"I know one thing." Monique walked towards the couch Siah was sitting on, with her sandal in her hand.

"Aight, my fault, my fault." He laughed and moved away from her, quickly.

"Nah, but you can't even cap, momma did used to always try to tell us dem' stories about kids going missing and kids dying, ta' try ta' make us stay inna house." Seven laughed, standing beside Brooklyn, who had her arms wrapped around his stomach.

"On, Goddd." Siah busted out laughing, loudly.

"Because kids do be going missing and do be dying, you ungrateful bastards." Monique joked, throwing her slipper at Siah, but he dodged it. "I was helping y'all, stupid asses."

"You just wanted us staying in the house." Sev said, with a chuckle.

"To help her clean up." Siah snickered, making everybody else do the same.

"Not too much on her now." Brooklyn laughed, moving her arms from around Seven and moved by Monique. "Because y'all ain't bout to gang up on her like that."

"Period." Monique swiped her hand under her chin. "What my gworl said." Monique pulled her arm over Brook's shoulder and turned her neck, looking at both her sons.

"Brook, don't be acting that because you with my momma. I still whoop you." Siah said from the living room that was in front of the kitchen.

"Right, she acting hella tough right now." Seven laughed.

"And ain't gone touch her." Monique chuckled.

"Period." Brook added, with a laugh.

"Imma catch Brook lacking, it coo." Siah sat back down, on the dark grey 3-piece sectional couch.

"Thought so." Monique moved from in front of Brook and sat down in a chair.

"Where my daughter at?" Seven asked his mom.

"Who yo daughter?" Brooklyn looked over at him, with her eyebrows furrowed.

"Boy, if youn stop calling my child yo daughter." Monique straight faced him.
