"That girl Jhene said, that dick make my soul smileee! What kinda dick that was, Jheneee?" One of the customers in the nail shouted and laughed.

Brooklyn decided to pick up another late shift therefore she was still working at the shop.

Though she was kind of sleepy she had lots of people that needed their nails done from her today, one of those being Sam. It was easy money for her so she just took in those customers.

But, she found a lot of the people there to be entertaining, which was what was keeping her awake.

Since Malayah would be the final person nails she was doing, she was currently finishing her nails.

"I don't know, but I'm tryna see what that be like." A different person in the shop answered.

Since there were positive vibes all around, everyone laughed.

"You like this color or it's too light?" Brooklyn looked over Malayah's nails as she grasped her hand in her own.

"No, I like it. It's cute." Malayah glanced at her nails and shook her head. "You doing really good, Brook."

"Thank you." Brooklyn smiled and said.

While setting her phone down on the table, Malayah answered the ringing FaceTime call in her other hand.

"Yea, Lani?"

"Mommy, where are you?" With a mug on her face, Lani turned a downward gaze to the camera.

"Working." Malayah turned the camera around to show the customers inside the nail salon.

"Hi, Brookie." Lani said blandly.

"Hey, Lani girl." Brooklyn smiled, trying not to laugh at Lani's expression.

"Mommy, can you bring me a Happy Meal?"

"Ye—"

"Don't bring her no Happy Meal. She didn't even eat the food I just made her." Bando could be heard from Lani's background speaking.

"What you make her to eat?" Malayah asked as she looked down at the phone.

"Chicken nuggets and fries.. Exact same shit she tryna get from Mcdonald's." Bando answered.

"He burn it, Mommy!" Lani could be heard yelling somewhere in the distance.

As Lani and Bando argued on the other end of the line, Malayah muted the phone and she and Brooklyn started laughing out loud.

"It wasn't even burnt, bra. They was just a lil crunchy, exactly how they was supposed to be." Bando sucked his teeth.

"The nuggies was black, Da!" Lani stood up from the couch and stomped her feet.
