I was hoping he would say that he was busy or had homework or somthing, but I geuss I didn't hope hard enough.

My mother thanked Gilbert and sent us off.
Gilbert followed me. We walked in silence. The only sounds we made were our boots colliding with the wet ground. It had become that early stage of winter where the snow turns to slush all the time.

"It was cool of you to put out the fire." Gilbert said, trying to break the agonizingly awkward silence that was between us.
"Yeah, thanks." I stared at my feet. "Sorry that I was kinda rude to you earlier... and last week at school."

Gilbert shrugged. "Oh, its alright, I should've just made Billy done it for himself."
I turned around to face the curly haired boy. "Billy? What do you mean?"
Gilbert raised an eyebrow. "Billy Andrew's? The person that wrote you a note on your first day?"

Things started to make sense a little.
"Wait, Billy wrote the note you put on my desk?"
"Yeah." He said, oblivious to what was written inside it. "Then he told me to toss you a peice of chalk so you could write a note back on your blackboard. And then he told me to go ask for your name."

I was in shock yet again.
"Wait, Gilbert, do you know what he wrote in the note?"
"Yeah," He replied, running a hand though his hair. "He said he was asking if he could walk you home."

"No." Gilbert looked at me, confused. "He said it was from you."

I welcomed Gilbert into my house to show him the note and get out of the chilly early winter air.
"Wait, so he framed me?" Gilbert inquired as we took of our boots by the door.
"I geuss you could call it that."

I opened my school bag that was placed on the kitchen table. Inside of it was the note that I had come to hate.
I passed it to Gilbert, who was still confused. "Look."

As Gilbert read the note, his face expressions went from confused to angry.
"I'm so sorry. I-"
I shrugged it off. "It's alright. Want some tea?"
"Uh, yeah, sure."

Gilbert and I sat at the table with our tea and talked.
I told him about my friends back in New York. I told him about how my parents divorced and my dad doesn't even bother to send letters anymore.
He told me about his dad. And how he was scared he wouldn't get better.

Third person pov:

It had been a bit over a month seince Y/n moved to avonlea and she was starting to get used to it.
Gilbert and her had become good friends, Diana was "friends" with Jerry, and Anne was still Anne.

And Billy was an annoying lil bitch.
But other than that, everything was good. It was getting closer to cristmas every day and Y/n was really enjoying herself.

It was all about to change.
