Evelyn Valentine
Once the light hit me, all I remember was falling on my back and then seeing nothing but light. I don't know where I am or what happened. Did something happen to Luna? Is she okay? Am I? I can see something. It's all my memories of us! All the good times we had until we were torn apart and separated for a stupid reason. My stupid reason....I don't know what I'm even doing here. What's the point? It's not like she even wanted me for anything with that book. It feels like I'm floating in this limbo-like place. I can move, but I can't see where to go at all. Is this space or am I in an air filled pool of nothing? I see someone across from me heading towards me, it's not like it matters though. It seemed like Luna was coming over to lecture me. She was flapping her arms like a bird even though we weren't falling. She finally floated over and looked at me. I probably look like shit, perhaps that's why people haven't looked at me with a straight face in a while. She just stared, until she wrapped her arms around me and hugged me tight. "Hey, what's with the hug?" I asked her, confused. She just held me close, shaking a bit. "I've been worried about you, Evelyn. Everyone's been worried about you lately" She replied, making me realize I have been really mopey lately. I guess I didn't realize how much time had passed considering I never bothered to check. I still couldn't look Luna in the eyes for very long, I don't wanna feel something that will fall apart again. I opened my mouth, but her finger went over my lips. "Look Evelyn, it wasn't your fault what happened back at the dance, it was mine" she said. I didn't know how to respond to her saying that. I had felt like I was to blame all this time, but she's admitting it. "I was jealous, I thought you were trying to be with other girls, but you were just stuck in the crowd" she continued. "I'm sorry I made you feel the way you are, I don't want you to feel alone, Evelyn" she finished. I was still completely silent, but not because I wanted to be. It was because the light we were floating in was getting darker and darker. Suddenly, everything went pitch black and I sat up after waking from what seemed like a dream. I felt arms wrap around me and a chin on my shoulder. Luna was hugging me, shaking with tears in her eyes. I turned in a sitting position, facing her. "Luna, I forgive you, I understand how you felt, you weren't the first person to have broken up with me" I told her and smiled softly. She blinked, the tears still stained on her face, and stopped shaking. She grabbed my face and smooched right onto my lips. My face turned deep red while she finally seemed to be smiling again. "I'm sorry about the others, we just wanted to keep you guys safe in case something happened with the necklaces" she explained. Scout had finally told me the whole story yesterday and how he had seen blood on the grass leading to the road. I lifted Luna's arm and saw a scar from her elbow to the pit of her arm where a cut used to be. Her hair was still the same as I remembered it, even though we go to the same school. She slid next to me and laid her head on top of mine, still smiling. It really does seem like the necklaces have something to do with something from the past and it seems pretty dangerous. But, at least it's helped out a little, I guess. I never really knew that Luna felt bad about what happened, she never said anything to me about it. That was what made me feel like it was my fault that we had separated. "When I said that "we" were trying to help you, it was only three out of the five of us" she told me. That means only Luna, Aeliana, and Tim were trying to help us, sort of, and that means two others didn't care what happened. I thought back to when I saw them around the corner. There were the main three trying to somewhat help, but who was left was....Thomas and Will.
