Back when I was still getting to know Phoenix, I had and still do have an amazing strength in Art Class. I loved to draw from a young age and it's stuck with me ever since I started. It was the class I would get the highest average on in school with my second being Music. Everyone that passed during class stopped and looked at whatever I was doing for my art project and were amazed by my style saying, "Oh, you're amazing" or "I wish I could draw as good as you". I would always answer them with the usual thing I said. "You can draw like this too, you just need lots of practice. They would always smile and seem so inspired by that one sentence. Phoenix shared this class with me so we sat next to each other. In Fact, whenever the teacher had to move seats because kids were misbehaving, we were the two that never had to move from next to each other. I thought that everyone loved my art, because of how amazed they seemed and it was true, except for one person. Thomasina Jackson was her name, which she is now a he in school so I now use the name Thomas for him. He hated all the popularity I got just for being artistic. I didn't bother with it much or brag about it, but it just seemed like he thought that I was getting too much attention. One day, he had a cup of blue paint and walked over, tipping it slowly over my drawing to ruin it. It almost did dump until Phoenix grabbed her, now his, wrist and said one simple word. "DON'T". This startled him as he pulled his arm back and walked back to his seat. Later on, he ended up dumping a blue drink into Phoenix's originally blonde hair. He tried so hard just to get people to hate me, like saying that there was this dark and offensive meaning behind whatever I drew. Of course, no one believed him besides Will Ryleigh, his best friend. They hated me even when I wasn't even doing anything that had to do with a class. If I was drinking chocolate milk at lunch, I'd be able to look over and see them staring me and Alex down like we were the worst human beings on the planet. Even Tim wasn't as harsh as that with Scout. He'd actually go up to Scout, not just stare at him creepily from a distance. It wasn't just me looking back at their glares. No, it was the rest of us. Scout made an uncomfortable look before looking away. Alex looked at them with a bored expression, as she had probably gotten used to it. It ended up being Evelyn and eventually Phoenix when she came to our table to actually take much of an action. They would look back at them with more intense glares. But, that wasn't where it ended. It came to throwing food too. Will picked up an apple, threw it, and ended up hitting Scout right where his spine was. I saw Aeliana get up and walk over to Will. I thought she was telling him to do it again, but it was way different. After walking up to him, she slapped him right across the face with Luna standing right next to her. I saw Phoenix staring at her sister unphased, but Evelyn was sweating a bit, as if nervous. We were wrong to think it was over. Thomas instantly aimed and threw a plate, knocking Evelyn straight in his head sending him off his seat and onto the floor. I could tell from that moment that Luna was pissed. Not just the kind of mad where she would tell you would get yelled at. She was completely enraged. She grabbed both of them by the collar dragging them off to the office. The plate hadn't just knocked Evelyn in the head and stayed together. It shattered and cut his head too. He already had a bloody mark from the first impact, but had gotten extra bloody marks from the sharp parts that had broken off. The five of us stayed in the nurse's office. Evelyn was in slight pain, which seemed like an understatement to me considering parts of his head were cut open. Scout was in extreme pain from the apple hitting directly on his spinal cord. The only reason the rest of us weren't told to go to our classes was, because we were there when it happened. We stayed in the nurse's office which happened to be next to the regular main office. We told them everything that happened, knowing that Will and Thomas had probably told a different story. Scout's pain and Evelyn's cuts were so bad, they had to be taken to the hospital. Scout had ice packs lined down where his spine was, but pulled through without any issues. However, Evelyn had to have stitches in his head, which he dealt with like a champion. He only shedded one tear! Thomas and Will ended up getting detention for two weeks, because the staff ended up proving their story wrong and as a punishment for endangering two students' lives. It didn't really seem enough though. That seemed like a super mild punishment for almost killing two people! I couldn't really argue though since our school apparently says we don't actually have freedom of speech when we enter. In my opinion, that is complete bullshit. Especially with dress code terms, but I don't have that much trouble with that part of school. After Evelyn's stitches were removed, he was back to being his regular happy self and waved it off like it didn't matter much, but it really did. The school wasn't doing much to stop the bullying, but that was only one incident. Many more happened, but there's so many I could probably just write a book about it. Now that we know that Thomas and Will are part of the group, it seems like it's happening less and less. They seem less focused on us and more on something else. I do have a drawing saved for if Thomas ever wants to be friends though. Like my parents have told me, Everyone can Change.
