Evelyn Valentine

Scout didn't explain what happened between him and Tim, but all I got from him was, "Just the usual amount of Tim, as usual", which is kind of a weird statement. Nonetheless, I had to go on with the day. After a quite literally empty ten minutes at school, I decided to go skip rocks at the lake. People usually aren't at the spot I go and if they are, they're either fishing or about to get on their boats. All I do is throw rocks, seeing how far I can make them go. I picked up a rock, aimed and...somebody has their hand over my mouth. I can only tell they're wearing a cloak and fingerless gloves. Then, I heard a female voice speak. "You shouldn't be part of this situation, Evelyn. You could get hurt and we don't want that" she said to me. How does she know my name?!, I never even said anything or turned around. Though, at the same time, her voice seems similar. I looked at her hands, seeing letters painted on her nails. E-v-l-y-n V-a-l-t-n was what was painted on them, making me shake. Her hand moved from my mouth and down to under my throat, squeezing my face. "This doesn't have to end with violence, but it can if we have to bring it to that" she said, "What do you want from me?..." I asked her, wondering what this was for. "It's very simple really, just get away from those friends of yours and all this will just be a dream that never happened" she said. She was scaring me and this pose was uncomfortable, I had to do something and run. I grabbed her arm, yanked her cloak, and pushed in the lake, running as fast as I could to Scout's house and knocked on Scout's window. He popped it open and I rolled and fell in, landing on his bed. "Dude, what happened?" he asked, seeing me panting for air with this scared expression on my face. "Some girl with a cloak and gloves just tried to coerce me or something" I managed to spit out as I heaved for air. I saw him start to sweat again, which was weird at a point like this. I looked at the board with someone of the other people from our school. "Are there more of these cloaked people around?" I asked Scout, nervous about these new appearances. "Needless to say, but yeah, they've been seen all over town" Scout explained to me. After all this, I went home and laid back on my bed and her voice played through my head. Plus, the texture of her hands felt just as familiar as her voice sounded. I wonder who that was and why they were so worried about me getting hurt.
