Alex Brookson

Everyone seems really busy with their own things. Evelyn is talking with one of his friends from the past, Kyrie and Phoenix are hanging out as usual, and I'm helping Scout out with his research. The information we have right now is that this group isn't exactly dangerous or safe. While Luna and Aeliana aren't trying to harm us, Tim, Will, and Thomas don't really want us to feel safe at all. If I'm being realistic, I don't know what to do here. I started school later than the others and only one of final averages boosted me a grade ahead of the one I would've normally gone to. I just feel like I'm the least educated of the group, but I feel like if I talk about it, it'll make Scout feel bad and I don't like it when he's sad. Though, I think he already noticed my expression changing, because he's looked over to me as soon as I turned to a less happy expression. "Okay Alex, I can't ignore it, what's wrong?" he asked me, moving his seat to face me. "It's nothing Scout, don't worry about it" I answered, putting a smile back on my face. "Alex, I know when people are happy or sad and when they hide their emotions" he replied. He was right, considering he did that a lot when we first got together. He didn't wanna worry me so he tried to be as happy as possible, but even when he wasn't, I comforted him. As I looked into his eyes, I explained what I was feeling to him, hoping it didn't hurt his feelings. He looked in my eyes, though he was looking up at me since I was the tallest. "Listen Alex, just because you started school later than us, doesn't make you any less smart" he said to me, smiling. I grabbed him and squeezed him right into a hug. It feels nice to have someone care about you whether it's at a right or wrong moment. Scout does it at any moment and even if I don't feel like talking, it feels like he's talking to me at the right moments. When we first met, I still wasn't very confident about being around males. My past years in school weren't the best, but when I met Evelyn, he changed my perspective that not everyone is bad. I followed him to the lunch table that him and his other two friends were sitting at. I couldn't believe he was inviting me to sit with them. As I walked over with him, I saw a girl and another boy. That was Kyrie and Scout when I had first met them. Kyrie instantly waved, while Scout was busy reading a book, but I could tell he noticed me as he was blushing, though I hadn't thought about it back then. But, now that I know what it was all about, we're both being realistic with each other on how we feel about each other. It's all positive and if it does turn negative, we just talk about it. Scout means a lot to me and I'll do anything to protect him.
