Y/N's POV:
The next time Sophia and I end up slightly drunk together in my house, we're already a few dates in. It's been going great so far! To be honest, I'm a bit stunned that I never consciously realized how much romantic potential we have. Well, at least one of us did realize it.
The movie Sophia and I have decided on watching earlier is just background noise now. We're far too busy talking to be able to at least somewhat follow the plot. But that's fine; I'd choose talking to Sophia over watching a movie anytime. Plus, it gives me an excuse to stare at her.
Maybe I focus a bit too much on drinking her in because I don't even notice that she's stopped talking and leaned in until her lips are on mine. It's not our first kiss but it just might have been because there are just so many fireworks erupting in my chest. Although that could also be the champagne bubbles from our first drink tonight.
I pull her in tighter and run my hands through her hair. Soon, she's half on top of me, her mouth never leaving mine. Now, the movie's not even background noise, I just don't notice it at all. In fact, there's nothing on my mind except for Sophia. She's so close to me it's almost overwhelming.
Sophia uses my incapacity to think or do anything else than kiss her to flip us around so that she's on top. This shakes me out of the trancelike state I've fallen into, and I can't help but giggle.
"What?", Sophia whispers against my lips.
"It's just so like you, to want to be on top, I mean", I whisper back.
Sophia gives me a provocative look. "Is it now." It's not really a question, actually it's barely anything, just an almost imperceptible breath against my lips. But it still sends shivers down my spine. Now it's Sophia who giggles. I shoot her an annoyed look that quickly vanishes once she kisses the frown off my lips. I bet there's just a dumb but blissed-out smile now as she pulls her head back again.
"You know what else I want?", Sophia asks.
I shake my head. "No, what do you want?"
"I'd really like to take that thing off", she replies while tucking at the hem of my shirt that's ridden up a bit so that parts of my stomach are visible.
"Me too", I confess. "But neither of us is sober. And I'd like to be."
"Woah, Y/N! Just the shirt!"
"I know, I know. But", I whisper while coming a little closer, "you're just so addicting. I don't think that's where it'll stop."
"You might be right on that." Sophia grins and pulls me in closer once again. "But I still wanna make out with you if that's alright."
"Of course it is!" I barely have time to finish my answer before her mouth is on mine again. I regret rejecting her a bit but I know that I really want to be sober for our first time, so I'm in my right mind to take in everything. And champagne bubbles can't compare to Sophia's kind of intoxicating anyway.
