Y/N's POV:

The black-haired boy is already looking at me. And I don't like the expression on his face. Not at all. He looks at me like he's gonna eat me for lunch - and not in the good way! Great. I can't wait to sit next to him for the rest of the school year.

Luckily, he can't do anything other than sneer at me while we're in this classroom. But I don't know what will happen once the lesson is over.

I do my best not to annoy him on any way. I've carefully marked the invisible line in the middle of the table in my head. I don't cross it once, not even with the tip of a finger.

My wariness seems to have paid off, because the boy doesn't even do much as glance at me once the bell rings and just quickly leaves the room.

The next few classes are pretty uneventful. I have to introduce myself every single time, and if anything, my introductions only get shorter. By the time lunch comes around, I have almost forgotten about Laura's invitation. Good thing she has somehow found out which classroom I'm in right before lunch and is now waiting by the door.

She's so adorable, excitedly bouncing back and forth on her feet and smiling at me as soon as she spots me. I hurry up, so she doesn't have keep awkwardly standing by the door.

"Hi!", she greets me.
"Hi!", I follow suit.
"How were your classes?" She seems genuinely interested.
"Not too bad. But is Mrs. Parker always this strict?"
Laura's nose crinkled up in sympathy. "Yeah ... Just make sure you always contribute to her lessons. At least once or twice. She'll eventually come to like you."
I nod offer her a genuine smile. "Thanks!"
"No problem!" She points down the hall. "Lunch?"
"Yes, please, I'm starving!"
Laura laughs and we make our way down the hallway to the cafeteria.

The rest of the day passes smoothly. I don't see Gorgeous Girl or any of her sidekicks. Lunch with Laura is nice as well. We don't have that much in common, but that doesn't matter. I think we could become good friends nevertheless. But then again, it's very hard not to like her.

Back at home, I feel a little less angry at my situation. One could even say that I'm in a good mood. That is, until my parents decide to finally give me a call. I ignore it, turn off the TV, and go upstairs to get ready for bed. The whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth.

When I turn off the lights, my slightly good mood is very much gone. I should have known that this day couldn't end as good as it started. Even my subconscious doesn't give me a break as I fall asleep.

This time I dream that my parents and Gorgeous Girl have already been living their perfect little life without me for quite a while. But now she's scared that I will show up and ruin it. I wake up as soon as Gorgeous Girl picks up a knife in their perfect house's kitchen and leaves to find me.
