"How was Italy?", I asked Derek as I took a strawberry from the bowl on the picnic table. Derek took me out for a "picnic", there is 2 feet of snow outside but he set up a picnic table with snacks in the basement for us, I also didn't want to go too far away from Mario.
Mario was good this morning, he was back to his usual self plus a few bruises which should heal within the next week or so.
"Boring without you", Derek said and I felt my cheeks heat up, "Your adorable when you blush you know that?", he said and I felt myself blush even harder.
"I missed you-", he looked me straight in the eyes and then I saw his eyes trail down to my lips "and your kisses", he finished and I felt my tongue lick my bottom lip slowly.
I cant control it don't judge me....
"Did you have fun during Christmas?", he asked me but his face went blank once realised what he said a second later. "I didn't mean it-"
I held up my hand to stop him, "its fine, but let's not talk about it please", he nodded.
I didn't want to worry anyone but yesterdays events took a toll on me, I had training and knew what to expect I was that stupid, but I won't lie and say I slept peacefully last night and dreamt of bunnies and chocolate when in reality yesterday's events played in my head the whole night.
"I got you a present", Derek said changing the topic which I was glad of, he handed me a box and I thanked him before opening it carefully, I lifted off the lid and a smile crept up my face, it was a beautiful pair of earrings and also a framed picture of us the time we went ice skating.
I hugged the picture to my chest, "The earrings are handmade, I saw them at a market in Italy and they reminded me of you", he said rubbing his neck and I felt butterflies. He thought of my when I wasn't around?
I played the box down and walked over to Derek and wrapped my arms around his, giving him a tight hug, "Thank you so much, I loved it", I said and he smiled pulled me away, I looked at him confused, I wanted to hug him.
But my confusion was pushed aside when Derek's lips came crashing down on mine, he kissed me gently like he always did and I felt my heart flutter as his tongue licked my bottom ip slowly. I pulled away after a few seconds "My family could walk it", I said quietly and Derek nodded at me but I could see the disappointment in his eyes.
He took my hands into his gently and looked at me seriously, "The few days I was gone made me realise something important", he said and I tilted my head to the side, confused again.
"Emilia I missed you like crazy and I know we haven't dated for long but I love you", he said and I felt my butterflies as my mouth opened in shock, I am pretty sure I loved him too but I thought he wouldn't feel the same this early on. "You don't have to say it back", he said and I cursed realising I hadn't said anything since ehe confused his love for me.
