-Alaina-

Dominic is not in his happiest of moods.

Not that he is very often anyway.

But today is a whole lot worse.

I glare down at my phone as he calls for the 6th time since I left his house.

Which was 2 hours ago.

"What, Dominic?" I say, slightly harsher than I intended.

"Woah, what's with the hostility, love?" he chuckles with that deep, dreamy voice.

Clenching the steering wheel, I drop my head back on the seat.

Yes, he let me borrow his car. I tried to refuse the offer, but this man was determined that I didn't travel that far alone in an uber.

"I'm going to my Mom's, you can't keep calling me while I drive unless you want this to be a one way trip."

"What, so now I'm not allowed to call my girlfriend to check up on her?" he scoffs, and I can feel him rolling his eyes at me.

The corners of my lips tilt up as he rants about how I "fucking left him with the idiots".

He refers to them like he didn't have to do it by himself before we met.

"But that's different!" he exclaims, dramatically.

"You call me when you get there, okay?"

"Sure, boss." I do a little salute, even if he can't see it.

The line falls silent for a few seconds.

"Never call me boss again. I love you."

My heart swells. Like I feel it grow like it does in The Grinch.

"I love you"

Pulling into my Mom's drive, I puff out my cheeks as I concentrate.

I'd hate to crash this car, Dom would never forgive me.

I see her frame stood at the door, cloaked in a flowy, white dress.

Her arm flails in the air when she sees me, a broad smile on her face.

Before I get out, I text Dominic letting him know I'm safe so he doesn't send out a search party.

Not even seconds after I'm out the car, I'm swarmed by 2 people.

My Mom's arms have a firm grip on my shoulders, my Dad's thrown around me, rocking me back and forth.

"God, we missed you, honey." he holds me at arm's length, scanning down my body.

"You just keep growing and growing, cariña" his lips form a tight line, bringing me back in.

"Papa, its only been a few months." I laugh, awkwardly patting his back.

I mean yeah, I look healthier now. I'm finally getting back on track.

Leading me inside, I seem my sister stood, a baby on each arm.

"Oh, thank goodness you're here, take this." she shoves a baby into my arms, wiping her forehead.

Staring down at the kid in my arms, I panic slightly.

How the fuck do I stop it making that awful noise?

I have no idea what to do.

Making shushing noises, I swing the baby gently until he screeching sound stops.
