i just got back from my mamas house to see how she doing. she's okay, she's been on some medicine to take but i'm still worrying about her.
getting on top of the roof, i sat and pulled out a cigarette. it was my getaway spot and even though i might seem a bit to old, i didn't care.
"what are you doing up there?" anthony called down below.
i have no idea...
"luna talk to me or i'm coming up there" i heard his voice say once more. looks like he's coming up here. with that he grabbed a ladder and climbed up sitting next to me on the roof.
"talk to me. what's going on?" he asked me. his eyes looked at me as i continued to puff out smoke from the cigarette.
"my mama has cancer, tony" i said between tears. i crushed the cigarette with my foot and shook my head in my hands. everything is going downhill so hill.
"your mamas a fighter. i know she'll get through it baby" he kissed my forehead but nothing eased the pain.
"she's been there for me for 19 years tony. if i lose her now i don't know what i'd do" my head felt lightheaded. he rubbed my back to calm me down and i did my best to try.
- later on it was night fall. i was sitting in the passenger seat while anthony sat beside him in the driver seat with his friends in the back. they was so loud so i sat there on my phone since there was nothing else to do.
the car filled with smoke but i didn't mind as i was now a smoker myself. his friends were yelling and shouting thinking they was being funny and having fun but it just hurt my ears.
can they just shut the fuck up already? damn...
i have anthony a look and he nodded.
"alright yall my girl ain't feeling good ima need yall to leave" he said. they all booed and smacked their lips but now the car was quiet and not so loud.
"what's wrong baby?" his hand touched my thigh.
"nothing. yo friends just to damn loud for me" i laughed and he smiled shaking his head.
"they always been like that. i wanna take you somewhere" his hands gripped the steering wheel while staring at me.
"take me where?" i asked him.
"to see the lights. it's night to do they'll look pretty" that made me blush when he told me that because it was just the two of us walking around seeing the lights lit up the the night.
"aw that sounds like fun. let's go!" i cheered and he stepped on the gas pedal making our way to see the lights.
we got there 15 minutes later and we got our walking there. from a distance i could see everything. the trees with lights wrapped around them made them look so pretty! the lights came in all different colors. green, red, blue and some even mixed.
anthony held his hand in mine as we continued to walk towards the lights. there was also a tunnel of lights that looked so pretty.
"babe how did you find out about this place?" I looked over at him. he kept looking straight as we walked.
"while i was scrolling through my phone. gives us something to do and have fun together" it made me smile knowing he was now thinking about us in a relationship and not just about hisself.
we stayed for two hours waking around and taking pictures together, admiring the view of the place. i'll never forget this day because it has one of the best.
