Carmela laughed at herself.
Why would he want to see me? I've only just tried to kill him a couple of hours ago--
"Mina's his little sister, she's at home right now. It's pretty late so I didn't want to--" Namjoon spoke up, getting out of his seat.
"Oh of course, yes I totally understand. She can't see him right now anyways, we've got to wait a couple of hours, I'll let you guys know. Bring her in tomorrow, I'm sure he'd love that." And with that, the doctors turned and left. The double doors closed shut behind them.
Carmela felt her heart beat a frenzy, and took a deep relieved breath. She turned back, awkwardly passing in front of the 4 boys, and skipped all the way back to her spot behind a dozen rows of seats.
He was safe. HE WAS SAFE!
Roxana hadn't killed him... those bullets hadn't finished him... he was still gonna be here. Alive, breathing, living.
Carmela smiled, her face in her hands. She raked her hair back from her forehead, taking another deep breath and leaned back into her seat, finally somewhat relaxed. Closing her eyes for a moment, her warm heart made her shiver with delight, putting the colour back into her cheeks and the moisture back into her lips.
Amidst everything that happened and is going to happen, she just felt pure happiness right now. Mina hadn't lost the last bit of her family... an innocent man wasn't killed for nothing... the real culprits were behind bars...
~7:59 am~
"Carmela?"
Someone was shaking her.
"Hey..."
It was a deep voice...
"Carme--"
Could it be--
"Tae!" She gasped awake, staring at a smiling Jungkook kneeling in front of her. They were still in the hospital waiting room, and the early sunlight was seeping into the large windows all around.
"He's fine, chill, didn't I tell you he was gonna be fine?" JK laughed, sitting next her. He held up a warm crispy Tim's bagel and steaming coffee. "Breakfast?"
"Thanks JK..." Her raspy voice surprised her. "Can I--"
"Oh--" JK pulled out a small bottle of water from the pocket of his hoodie. "Thought you'd need some."
"Thank you." Carmela smiled, before taking a sip. "Can I ask you a question JK?"
"Yeah, anything. But if you're asking how long it's been since I've showered, Imma have to take a pass on that one." He chuckled.
"No, no don't worry, same." Carmela giggled. But her face dropped as she asked. "How's Heather? Did they... did they take Hosi?"
JK looked at his hands, sighing.
"They're holding him, but who cares. His dad is probably gonna get him out." He said.
"And Heather?" Carmela sat on the edge of her seat, turned to JK, their knees touching.
"I wouldn't be surprised if she divorced Koman today, I mean--" JK rubbed his eyes. "It's fucked up to the point where I don't even know what happened."
"It was all Hosi." Carmela shuddered, her voice breaking. "It was all Hosi and Roxana. She confessed the entire th-thing--"
"Hey..." JK pat her shoulder. "Tae's okay! Can you believe it? Tae's gonna be fine, they don't matter anymore, Carmela. Forget about that. Jules... aren't you happy she finally got justice?"
