When Worlds Collide

Chapter 26

It was now Thursday morning. Carina was watching Maya pack up her suitcase, about to leave to ride the bus to the University of San Francisco, where the state championship game was being held. It was a 5 and a half hour bus ride, and the team was leaving early to get practice time in at the stadium. The Natures Academy School District cancelled school Friday, so that they can all go watch the championship game Friday night. Carina was going to ride up Friday morning with Vic, Andrew, Andy, and Ryan, with the others in another car. They had hotel rooms set up for the weekend too.

"I wish I could skip work today and go with you right now..." Carina pouted while she sat on the bed.

"I know honey, me too, but I will see you tomorrow afternoon." Maya spoke back as she zipped up her suitcase.

"I'm going to be so lonely tonight....sleeping all alone.." Carina spoke sadly.

"I'm going to be all alone too, I hate being away from you. But you will be back in my arms before you know it." Maya said as she stood up to peck Carina's lips.

"I know..." Carina responded.

"Hey, when we win we are going to celebrate like crazy. Then that means the season is over, which means I will have lots of free time and we can makeup for lost time since I've been so busy and haven't spent as much time with you as I wanted." Maya smiled.

"I know, but I've loved watching you coach. I already can't wait until next season." Carina smiled.

"Me too love. I need to get to the school. The bus is leaving in 20 minutes for send off. And you my dear need to get to work." Maya stoked Carina's cheek with her thumb.

"Let's go there together. The school is gathering outside to send you guys off so I will be there anyways." Carina said as she stood up to grab her purse.

They got to the school, giving each other a kiss goodbye in their car. Maya got onto the bus with the team, as the school and community cheered them on as they rode away, also getting an awesome police escort.

It was a long day for the both of them. Carina had a boring day teaching, thinking about Maya the whole time. As for Maya, she had a long bus ride and ended up listening to music most of the time. When the team got to the stadium, they practiced and had a team dinner at the hotel together.

Maya was in her hotel room and was very tired from her day. It was about 8 pm and she was going to go to bed early since the team had to get up early for breakfast and to shoot around at the stadium. She gave her girlfriend a call before she went to bed.

Carina was sat on her couch, just finished eating dinner. She saw she was getting a FaceTime call from Maya.

"Hey hun." Maya said as Carina answered the FaceTime call.

"Hello bambina, about to go to bed?" Carina asked.

"Yeah, thought I would give you call before bed. I miss you..." Maya pouted. She was in bed, hidden under the covers, her bare shoulders and upper chest showing.

"I miss you too Maya." Carina pouted back. There was a moment of silence of them just staring at each other smiling. "So, what are you wearing?" Carina smirked jokingly.

"Oh shut up!" Maya laughed throwing her head back. "You are silly."

"I'm serious." Carina smiled.

"I think you would be glad to know I am wearing nothing. We both sleep naked, remember?" Maya smirked.

"Yes I know. Show me." Carina demanded.

"What?" Maya chuckled. "Really?"

"Really. Show me." Carina demanded again. The brunette got up and started walking upstairs to their bedroom, laying on their bed.
