The day before Keith was scheduled to play the Grand Ole Opry for his tenth Opry Anniversary. You are awoken to a rough sounding cough.

Keith was curled up next to you coughing harshly. You reach over to rub his chest.

He groans and coughs again.

"I don't think I can perform tomorrow." He mumbled. Still half asleep he looks sickly pale and his nose seems stuffed up.

"You don't look good. I think that's a good idea to stay home." You tell him.

He nods and sits up grabbing a tissue to sneeze into.

You sit up worried and reach to feel his forehead.
You find him warm but not too warm.

"I'll get the thermometer. What's bugging you?" You ask him
as you get up to get the thermometer.

"Throat, head, nose, and a cough. And my stomach hurts a little but I'm not nauseous or anything." He says.

"I wish I knew where it came from." He said

"Well me and the girls were sick last week."

You point out as you being the thermometer over and puts it under his tongue.

He nods with the thermometer in his mouth.

Once the thermometer beeps.

You take it out and it doesn't look good.

"101.7 you poor thing. You've definitely got what me and the girls had.

It's some random bug that's been going around." You explain.

He groans and coughs harshly.

He curls up under the blankets. You put the thermometer away.

Then grab some medicine to see if It'll do any good.
Once you have that you give it to him and some water.

He sits up and takes the medicine and water. Then he curls up in bed again.

"Get some rest ok? I'll be downstairs." You tell him. He nods and closes his eyes to go back to sleep.

You head downstairs to make sure the girls are ready for school.

You eat your breakfast and then help the girls out to the car.

"Why's dad not taking us?" Sunday asked.
"Dads feeling sick today.

He caught that same weird bug we had." You explained to her.

"That's not good. What about the opry?" Faith asked.

"He won't be able to perform. He'll do it next weekend." You tell her, she nods

"Maybe you could do get well cards for him when you get home." You suggest.

They nod and you get them into the car. Then you take them and drop them off at school.

When you get home. Keith had moved to the couch in the living room.

The puke bucket set up next to him.

You frown and go sit next to him.

"What's with the puke bucket?" You ask.

"I was coughing and gagging so hard I thought I'd puke."

He says before a wet coughing fit takes over.

He coughs so hard, He's soon gagging and then he pukes.

"Oh goodness." You say worriedly as you rub his back.

He groans and spits. He coughs a few more times.

You grab a tissue from the box on the table next to the couch and wipe his mouth.

He whimpers and buried his head against your side.
"This sucks!" He whined.

"I know I'm sorry babes." You say as you hold him close. He coughs and whimpers.

You hold him and rub his back. Soon the coughing stops and he falls asleep in your arms.

You smile when he's finally asleep. You rub his chest to try to help him feel more comfortable in his sleep.

Later after you pick up the girls from school.

The girls go to do their homework. While you check on Keith.

He's up and watching tv with blankets wrapped around him.
"How we doing? Any better?"
You ask.

He nods.  "I feel a bit better then this morning."

"Good." You say with a smile.

You sit with him for awhile and then you give him medicine and water to help him feel better.

After a few days of rest, medicine and TLC, and cuddles.  He feels much better.

A/N I hope you enjoy the update. I've been going back to re edit all the parts.
I've published already so it looks better.

Cuz I've realized I tend to rush when writing and would publish stuff when it wasn't edited or spaced out.
I apologize for that  and I'm fixing it so it looks more readable.

Anyway I hope you enjoy this update.
