Astrid's POV
I've wanted to hear those words for what felt like years. Hiccup finally asked me to be his girlfriend. He wasn't using me at all, in reality he just wanted to make me feel special... boy oh boy did he do just that."Ya know, I was starting to lose hope before, that you would actually ask me out," I said.
"I know, I sort of rushed asking you because I was scared you were just hurting. I don't want to scare you off, you're important to me," he said holding my hand.
I frowned," how long would you have waited, to ask me out if I didn't let it be clearly known?"
"Not to much longer, I think I was just incredibly nervous and didn't think anything was good enough," he replied.
"Hm. That's good, at least you wouldn't have waited months," I said with relief as I leaned my head on his shoulder.
We sat near the railing with our feel dangling off the edge. We watched the sun tuck itself in behind the hills and trees of Berk and fall fast asleep. As the night continued we laid onto the cool wood panels that supported the tower. We stargazed for an hour or more. He showed me where the Big Dipper was. I already knew where it was because I would stargaze with my dad when I was little. We would go camping sometimes and Jack would always fall asleep faster than me. I on the other hand was a night owl and dad would help me fall fast asleep by telling me stories of people who lived on the stars.
I smiled," did you know that on the last star of the little dippers handle there are hundreds of people living lives just like us? Maybe in a similar place to this there are two kids stargazing and the whole time wondering the exact same things that we are?"
Hiccup turned his head to me and I turned mine to him. He smiled at me," ya know, I think that you're right. I hope there's other life out there, maybe not people but some creatures living and asking the same questions we are."
"What made you think of that?" He asked.
"My dad and I used to tell stories of people living in the stars when I couldn't fall asleep," I replied.
He sat up and hovered his head over mine," why are ya trying to fall asleep?"
I giggled," I'm not just looking at the stars made me think of it."
I lifted my head slightly to kiss his nose then plopped it back down on the floor. He smiled and then kissed my lips gently.
" I don't think I could ever get tired of your soft lips," he said staring at my lips.
"I would hope not, or I would be in for a heartbreak," I said holding my hands over my heart.
I felt a slight buzzing in my pocket, then realized it's obviously my phone. I pulled my phone from my pocket and Hiccup laid back down to stare at the stars. It was a text from Jack.
When are you gonna be home?? Dads gonna get worried soon.
I looked at the time 10:36pm. My curfew is 11pm and it's gonna take some time to drive home.
"Hiccup we gotta go, my curfew is 11 and it's already past 10:30," I said standing up and dusting my legs off.
Hiccup stood up," okay we should probably hurry."
We dusted ourselves off and headed down to the Bronco (I've never said this before but a Bronco is a Ford it's like a truck but mixed with a Jeep... NOT a Jeep truck the picture of one is at the top). Once we made it down we loaded up and headed back home. The ride back was nice we played each other our favorite songs and held hands.
Once we got back home Hiccup walked me to my door and before I could go in he wrapped his arms around my waist. He then buried his face into my shoulder and muttered something.
"What did you say?" I asked.
He tilted his head up and whispered in my ear," I'm really happy you said yes."
I felt a warm feeling in my chest it's crazy to think I left home today single and am coming home with a boyfriend. I wrapped my hands around him," why wouldn't I have?"
He just smiled and kissed me. After a moment of kisses he pulled away," alright I would probably let you go inside, I don't want your dad to hate me after all."
I chuckled," yeah, that would make things complicated. Goodnight Hiccup."
He smiled," goodnight Astrid."
I walked inside and peeked around for my dad. I assumed he would be waiting at the door for me, but the coast was clear. I poked my head out the door and gave Hiccup one last kiss before I shut the door.
I crept down the stairs and to my room, I opened the door and turned on the light.
I frowned," what the fuck are you doing in my room?"
Jack sat at my desk spinning in my chair holding a book.
"Well, well, well, Astrid Hofferson," he said as he did an exaggerated look at his wrist... which didn't have a watch on it. " It is 2 minutes past your curfew. What do you have to say for yourself young lady??"
"Get out of my room," I said rolling my eyes.
He touched his chest offended," I have been worried sick, I have been sitting here all night reading this book on what to do when your sister runs away with a mystery neighborhood boy."
I put my hands on my hips," In the dark?"
He looked confused," what?"
"I walked in and the lights were off. How could you be reading with the lights off, and who is the author of that book?"
" I will have you know it is in brail. The author is also me," he said smiling and gliding over the last part.
"Oh okay that makes sense.... SEEING AS YOU CANT READ BRAIL!!" I shouted.
"Blah blah blah, why have you been out all night with that hooligan boy?!?!" He shouted back pointing his finger at me.
"Would you both shut up?!" Shouted a booming voice from upstairs.
PTK:)
I'm back;) I felt really guilty about the ending I made for this story, so I'm back to end it how it was meant to end.
