Hiccups POV

Astrid and I had the first two hours and the last two hours together. Well and of course seminar. She was kind of becoming my go to person right off the bat. I could not seem to make friends with anyone in my classes except for the kids in my seminar. Which is ok and everything but I would like to have more friends outside of that one class.

I was making my way to lunch a little nervous considering I had no place to sit. I stood in the lunch line and scanned the room for a open table or seat.

I continue to scan when I spot a blonde.

Thank the gods she's in here

"Hey are you gonna move or what? You're holding up the line," some kid behind me said.

"Oh sorry," I grabbed my tray and walked over towards Astrid.

I felt slightly awkward considering the table was full and I'd have to pull up a chair and make my presence known to the whole table.

"Oh hey man!"

I look at the person who called for my attention. It was Tuffnut oddly enough. I guess he liked me enough to acknowledge me.

"Oh hey Hiccup," Astrid said turning around to see me," pull up a chair, you can sit next to me." Astrid moved her bag to the side so I could pull my chair up and she moved a little so my tray would fit on the table.

I scan the table and notice it's everyone from seminar except there's two new people there.

"Hiccup this is my boyfriend, Eret."

I look up from my food to see Ruffnut gesturing to the raven haired man sitting next to her.

He had this weird face tattoo and had to be older than the rest of us, I guess he is a senior.

"I'm Tom , since these twats won't introduce me to you."

I break eye contact with Eret and Ruffnuts PDA  and meet eyes with the person trying to get my attention.

"Hi," is all I say.

Tom frowns," What's with you?"

"Sorry?" I ask not understanding.

"Well,"Tom said leaning back into his chair,"most people would introduce themselves after being greeted."

"Oh," I said swallowing the food in my mouth,"I'm Hiccup, I moved here from Scotland and that's about it."

"So you're an immigrant?"

"Well, yeah I am technically," I respond.

"So you're dirty?" He says with a grin.

Who the hell just says something like that? All because I didn't introduce myself back?

"Not as dirty as you're mouth," I mutter taking another bite of food.

"What was that twig?!"Tom said standing up.

"Tom fix you're attitude before I fuck up your face," Astrid says not even looking up from her tray.

"I'm just messing with him," he says defending himself and sitting back down crossing his arms.

"Don't attack people for who they are," Astrid said getting upset.

The table was quiet for a minute.

"Well I think it's only fair if we all get to know Hiccup, since he's gonna be here for a while,"Tom suggested.

Tom looked at me," you are staying here right? Or are you a moved to a new school every year kind of kid?"

"I plan on staying but it depends on my dads job," I respond.

"Well we should all hangout. Does Saturday work for everyone?"Tom asked the table.

Everyone nodded their heads.

"Good we meet at the quarry Saturday around 3," he says as the lunch bell rings.

"Let's go to English," Astrid says grabbing her bag and throwing it over her shoulder.

"Yeah lets go," I say grabbing mine.

As we make our way to our English class I can't help but go back to what Tom said. We meet at the quarry? What the hell is the quarry?

"Hey Astrid? What's the quarry?"

"Oh it's this rock mine that's been abandoned for years. It's got this lake in in that's mostly rock so the waters clear it's really fun to swim in during the summer." She pauses for a moment," I'll have to take you there over the summer sometime."

I felt a little weird by that. I mean it's a girl saying she's gonna take you swimming, just the two of you. It's clearly a weird situation.......... unless she's gay?

Wait is she gay? Oh god what if she's gay? I mean I'm completely accepting towards gay people but she doesn't seem like the gay type.

Well that's stereotypical of me, to say she doesn't seem like the gay type. Wtf brain just stop.

"Sounds fun," I say cutting off my brain.

We made it to English and sat towards the back of the class.

I pull my phone out and check to see a message from my dad.

Hey son I won't be home tonight, I'm caught up in work. I wanted to be there so you could tell me all about you're first day but I can't make it. Sorry, rain check?

I wanted to spend tonight with him since I rarely see my father. I wish he would take some time off of work and pay some attention to his son. Ever since he started working for this new company he's had no time for anything else. He's giving 100% to this company and 0% to his own son.

"GOOD AFTERNOON!! ITS FRIDAY!!"

I jump out of my seat as the booming voice gets the day of the week wrong.

"Looks like we have a new student with us! Why don't you stand up and introduce yourself?"

I look across the room to the door and make eye contact with a large man. His booming voice wasn't the only intimidating thing about him. He was quite a built man. Noticing all the wrestling posters in his room I'm guessing he is obsessed.

Astrid nudged my shoulder.

"Hm?"

"Mr. Joplin is talking to you," she says.

"Oh um hi sir," I say smiling.

"Introduce yourself why don't you," He said with a big smile.

I sigh standing up,"hi my names Hiccup, I'm new here and I moved here from Scotland." I sit down and slump back into my chair.
