After the long process of paperwork and being licensed in what I need to be in I finally get to go to court.
My court date is in about two hours but I haven't told Hazel about anything just yet.
I don't want to get her hopes up.
The only person that knows I'm adopting Hazel is Lilly.
Lilly and I decided to go to Hazel's and Rex's school to have lunch with them. I of course can't go without Lilly because I'm not registered as Hazel's guardian- luckily Rex and Hazel have lunch at the same time.
We give the person at the front desk our IDs and she hands us a sticker with our information on it.
Walking to the lunch room the school seems so small, I remember being little and I thought this was the biggest place in the world. When we make it Lilly informs Rex's and Hazel's teacher we're here to have lunch with them.
They have designated tables outside of the cafeteria for the guardians that are having lunch with their kids. That's where we go to sit.
Hazel seems out of it and every time I see her she looks depressed. She doesn't jump up to hug me, she doesn't even look at me when we sit.
Her clothes aren't the best and neither is her skin.
Her hands and arms are dirty and her Justice shirt has small holes with bleach marks on them. Same with her jeans. Her curly hair looks untamed in the low ponytail she has. Her head is on the table and her eyes are closed- she's sleeping.
Gently rubbing her back she flinches a little, "mom and Aunt Parisa Hazel is sleepy because the people at her home do mean stuff to her; hit her and not give her food or nothing nice," Rex says lowly and takes a bite of his chicken nuggets.
I lean down and over kissing her cheek.
She lifts her head looking scared, "it's okay baby," I quickly bring her into a hug and she holds on tight, "I'm hungry," she mumbles.
"I got you chicken nuggets from McDonald's and fries," I voice. She quickly pulls away from the hug and I take her food out of the bag handing it to her.
"Par this is getting bad," Lilly says looking upset.
I don't blame her I'm upset too, her biological mom is a bitch and her dad is dead- she doesn't know her dad is dead either.
"I know I'm trying," gently rubbing my hand on top of her tangled hair I continue, "and I have a court date today. My last one. I hope I get custody."
I watch Hazel finish her food in no time, "I'm sorry mommy I'm still hungry," she looks at me with sad eyes.
Tucking in my bottom lip I slide my food over to her, I have the same things as the kids, "you have nothing to be sorry about baby, you eat," I lean down kissing her forehead and she goes to eat. Slower this time.

My heart is pounding out of my chest! I can feel and hear the thuds against my ear drums. Just say it already fuck!
My case manager is speaking to the judge about the rest of my information and I'm on the edge of my seat.
I want... no I need her to say Hazel with legally be my child. What I saw and heard earlier isn't what any child deserves.
I already decorated a room in my house for her, she has a playroom and her bathroom.
It's only a 4 bedroom house and once my dad and his wife are dead we'll have an extra room. But while Hazel is in the same house with me she'll be sleeping with me because I don't trust my dad.
He knows who's daughter she is and if he hurts her I'll kill him myself. Fuck the businesses.
This is the finalization.
I met all of the requirements in the last trial, he reviewed everything and I did it.
The attorney for me, the amicus attorney, an ad litem attorney, as well as any potential government agency parties- my caseworkers from CPS has helped me with so much.
I wish I would've chosen to let Hazel know about everything now that I'm her legal mother.
I'm overjoyed, hugging everyone.
I even took a picture with the judge.. damn I wish she was here. But she'll be home in 1-2 days.
Hazel Joy Lefebvre is officially my daughter.

Going through everything in Hazel's rooms I make sure everything is in place.
Her old toys Mr. Lefebvre brought from the penthouse mixed with the news I bought at the stores in her playroom ()
Her room is nice and neatly placed the way I think she would like it ()
Her bathroom matches the interior of her 2 other rooms ()
Mr. Lefebvre, Dean's dad, was so enticed I adopted Hazel.
He had to work so he wasn't able to stay.
My dad was asking so many questions when he saw me decorating her rooms, I didn't answer his questions. I haven't been seeing him around the house, just his bitch of a wife.
When the doorbell rang I quickly got up. Opening the door I see my CPS caseworker hand and hand with Hazel.
She lets go of her hand squealing and hugging my waist, I pick her up giving her a ton of kisses, "mommy," she cries happily.
She lays her head on my shoulder, "thank you," I smile towards the worker and she sits Hazel's small bags in the house before saying, "you're welcome," and walking off.
Closing the door I sit her down, "I told you I will never leave your side... at least not easily," I squat down planting a final kiss on her forehead.
Her dad used to kiss my forehead all the time. "Mom? Where's daddy," she asks sadly.
I don't know how to tell a child her dad is dead.
I know it would be better for her to know now, but I also know how much it would break her right now.
I think she should enjoy the happy moment right now and I should tell her later on, so I respond, "I wish I knew where he was baby."
