David never expected to enjoy Dawns company this much. It's true the boys drank blood in order to hold on to humanity but with her it was like humanity was reaching right back to take his hand. When he listened to her speak he knew he could really really get used to this.

"..and by the time she had even noticed me gone I was already in the wagon going down the hill." Dawn let out a small laugh while telling David a memory she held of her grandma.

"Sounds like you loved them a lot huh Sunshine." he laughed along softly taking a long drag from his cigarette.

"Yeah it was hard not to, they were really great to me." Looking off in the distance hints of sadness played at her eyes.

While they were walking back to the cave it had been easy for them to pick right up where they left off. Some moments didn't need conversation as they walked along hand in hand while David's smoke blew right across the moon. Sure he knew it would have been faster to take the bike, but then he wouldn't get this, he wouldn't get to watch her smile or begin to understand her.

"It sounds like it, now if you have lived her all your life why haven't I seen you on the boardwalk before hmm?" Since they where getting closer to the cliff Dawn asked to stop to take off her shoes for the walk on the sand.

"Well when I was younger they said it wasn't really safe, and I've never had many friends besides my family. I guess I never put myself out there enough to make the good friends that last." Dawn shrugged jumping into the sand. As David smiled down at her she couldn't help but blush, he looked to pleased.

" Well I think your not gonna have a problem with that anymore,Marko and Paul seemed to like you a lot and Dwayne  is a man of few words but he is kind." His brothers would never let him live down how open Dawn mad them.

"I'm glad Paul and Marko seem to like me they are pretty funny guys..once I realized they weren't making fun of me.I'm excited to meet Dwayne, I just cant believe you have 3 brothers." Dawn managed a smile once again reaching for his hand, her statement making David let out a deep laugh.

"Oh yeah and why is that sunshine?" He looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"You seemed so lonely when I first met you. All alone on the beach." Her voice was soft as she spoke concern lacing her words. David was shocked, on some level sure her felt alone even with his family but for her to know and to see it right away astounded him.

"Well I guess I kinda was Sunshine." He smirked over to her.

"Not anymore?" a she asked clearly wanted to know the truth.

"No, not anymore, not with you here." He spoke seriously as he looked at her.

They had finally reached Hudson's Bluff and Dawn was confused to say the least. She had expected a house, a shack even but now buildings were anywhere in sight. Then she looked up and all her cares about the house drifted away. The night sky paired with the cliff made dawn feel like she was floating through the night sky. The view was incredible to say the least.

"I know," David spoke coolly" Its my favourite part to. Come on its just down these stairs, Be careful." He gently grabbed her hand and began leading her down some old wood stairs. Soon enough she saw light coming out of a cave spreading into the night, leading her way. David jumped down a small gap with ease holding his hand up yet again for her to follow. With one very small jump of faith and her hand wrapped in Davids she was blown away.

It was amazing, A cave filled with warm light and different fabrics and posters draped and hung everywhere. A huge broken chandelier reflecting light everywhere in the most beautiful way,  the sea breeze causing it to swing softly. Couches and beds and chairs of all kinds littered the area, in one of them sat a big big man with dark brown hair. His face wore a all knowing smirk as he looked over the David.

"I know its not much but its home." David tried not to let her know that he was actually nervous of what she thought.

"David it's.." Dawn smiled wide spinning to take in as much detail as she could "Amazing! I cant believe you guys get to live here how has no one found out?"

David tried to shrug it off knowing what happened every time someone found their way into the cave.

A deep voice finally spoke up causing Dawn to turn quickly.

"So your Dawn?" The big  man spoke his voice matched the way he looked and Dawn couldn't help but blush knowing it meant David had really been talking about her to his brothers.

With a nod she spoke up" And you are Dwayne?" to be polite she asked even thought she already knew.

Dwayne simply nodded with a smile and looked over to David giving him a nod. He could hear exactly what his brother was thinking so he could already tell he would grow to care for her as a sister just like Paul and Marko. Anyone who made David feel like this was worth a place in his family.

"Don't mind him Dawn he doesn't say much but if he didn't like you, you would know." He took a seat in his wheelchair at the centre of the room lighting up a cigarette.

"I know." she rolled her eyes and sat next to David's chair holding back onto his hand and pulling the cigarette from his lips.

"You keep smoking the way you do its gonna kill you ya know?" A smile playing at her lips as Dawn took a long drag out of his cigarette before handing it back to David. She just kept surprising him. He looked completely awestruck as she elegantly blew out the smoke when all of a sudden Dwayne let out a deep loud laugh.

"I'm sure hes gonna be just fine Dawn." He chucked as he sat back watching the pair. Pair. Even thought he hadn't known her long Dwayne couldn't think of David without now thinking of the pair. It felt right.
