Dawn felt a new breath of fresh air fight its way into her soul after sitting atop the world and seeing everything it could be for her. When the ride finally stopped and she was forced to get off she couldn't help by being just the least bit disappointed. To fly over Santa Carla over all the wonderful lights shifting into a man made cosmos, was something she would yearn for the rest of her life.

With a bright smile and her hair fluffier than ever she made her way through the crowd on the look out for her next adventure. Her mind drifting off in thoughts of what could be while her eyes scanned the boardwalk  trying to drink in all the life this place had to offer. She walked along hand just barely trailing along the metal rail to separate the boardwalk from the shore. Dawn found herself in a rare part of the boardwalk that  didn't have many people or much noise and she smiled softly to herself. Deciding to turn and take in the shore she found herself thinking of her grandparents.

Her family was gone, and while she knew she herself had decided to live it still hurt. Watching the moon hang over the ocean she smiled softly as a few tears began to slip out if her brown eyes. They would have loved to see her now, to see her putting herself out there, to see her laugh and just enjoy life all by herself. She was lost in her emotions and in the gleam of the moon bouncing on the shore.

"Why are you crying?' A rough voice pulled her out of space making her jump at the figure standing on the beach while she was on the boardwalk.

"Jesus Christ! Hasn't anyone ever taught you not to sneak up on people dude." The blonde figure in front of her let out a small chuckle as he blew smoke.

" Well considering I walked up to you and you didn't even see me  I wouldn't call that sneaking up." She could barley make out his face if it wasn't for the soft moonlight hitting his features. He was pale with the blondest hair she had ever seen. His features were pointed and his hair was spiked up in a mullet. The strangers eyes were almost grey. Dawn could admit he was very handsome, trench-coat on the beach and all.

Dawn let out a small laugh and ran her finger through he mess of curls.

" Yeah I guess your right...." she began to trail off sad smile playing at her lips.

" Have you every lost such a big part of yourself that you don't even know where to begin to rebuild yourself" Looking up with honest eyes at the stranger .

He looked a bit taken aback by her openness the smirk he had long gone leaving his mouth just slightly open. After a few moments he finally spoke.

" No I haven't really had that feeling, all I do know is that I don't think you have to "rebuild" anything.." he paused to inhale his cigarette, letting the smoke finally release from his lips.  " I think you just add to what was there, maybe make something new?"

Dawn smiled softly looking down at the man his eyes widening at her for just a moment.

" I like the way you think." she nodded leaning on her hand turning her attention back to the moon. " I'm Dawn, do you happen to have a name?"

Pulled out of his trance " David." It was short and sweet.

David was taken in by how beautiful he found her up close, her round features and wild curls drew him in just like the waves. how was she so calm? why was she being so personal for only knowing him a few short moments? Why was he talking with her?

Dawn was enchanted by the moon begin to sit on the boardwalk dangling her feet over the edge.Looking back over at David quickly she saw his confusion.

" Sorry if I  caught you off guard there I tend to speak my mind around people I don't really know. Well actually I never seem to shut up around people in general. " He couldn't help but laugh.

David was a creature, he was far from human and this was the most honest and human conversation he's had with anyone besides his brothers. He couldn't believe this women who sat in front of him was so bold in her gentleness towards the world.

" You are fine, if I was bothered I would have left by now, or I would have just walked away when you tired to speak to me." David deiced then and there honesty would match honesty.

" That is fair I guess. Why are you on the beach alone this late?"

" Why should I answer your question, you never answered my first one." he raised an eyebrow at here as he blew out his cigarette smirking at her.

With no drop in her smile, with no sadness in her voice Dawn decided to give him her answer.

" My family is gone." Short and simple and just as honest and bold as she was.

Needless to say David felt like a total jackass. His mouth hung slightly open.

" Please don't feel bad, you didn't know them or their situation, but I'm just glad they aren't in pain anymore. Their together, I'm just happy then could have been with me this long in my life."

David was in awe of her. She didn't know him in the slightest but her she was just pouring out all of this raw emotion for David to feel. Just as he was about to open his mouth the raving of bikes caused him to run.

Cheering and wooing filled the might sky as three loud people on even louder bikes began to pull up in the edge of the beach farther behind where David stood.

" COME ON JACKASS WE ARE HUNGRY!" A new voice yelled while cheering followed.

David was going to kill his brother when they all got back to the cave.

Meanwhile Dawn was laughing loudly behind him.

"Friends of yours huh David?' She couldn't contain her smile.

"Oh Shut up!" he looked over at her frustrated but still letting a small smile play at his mouth to let her now he wasn't mad at her. This backfired on David however but it only made her laughing worse.

He turned his attention back to the gang.
"WELL THEN GO GET FOOD, WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU NEED ME FOR?" he yelled at the group facing away from dawn.

" YOUR TURN TO PAY DIPSHIT" another new voice screamed back at David as he groaned.

Turning to dawn he brushed his hair back walking closer to her.

"Looks like I have to go. Turns out its my night to pay for dinner and if I don't ill never hear the fucking end of it. Thank you for this conversation I don't talk to people much but this truly made my night." He spoke honestly and Dawn could tell.

" I should be thanking you David your the first friend I've made on the boardwalk." She smiled looking down at him, finally standing up again.

" Besides I should be getting  home myself, hopefully ill see you when I come the the boardwalk again whenever that is."

In a deep serious tone that sent chills down her spine David spoke.

" Be safe Dawn."

He meant it. Dawn was becoming more than food to David, she was becoming his friend. Her boldness and honesty was endearing and she was beautiful he wouldn't deny that. He wasn't just wishing for her safety, he was going to ensure it.

As the two walked away from each other they felt change, something new blowing in on the wind.
