Everything Is Fucked

The visit to Max's floored David. Everything was fucked.

Not so long ago David gathered his brothers quickly after standing on Dawns porch. They all heard him, their father calling them to him. They watched as their leader paced back and fourth trying to think, trying to plan for every possible situation.

"No one mentions Dawn, not a single word about her. God I haven't even had a chance to tell her what we are!" Davids lips where curled tightly as he smoked. Anything to cure this dread filling in the pit of his stomach.

"Come on man we arn't all idiots." Paul laughed out bumping Marko, trying his best to defuse the tense feeling rising in the air that night. David simply nodded before Dwayne stepped up grabbing him by the shoulders.

"This will be fine. Max will be fine. We need to go, if we keep him waiting any longer he will know something is up." With a nod David's voice of reason was out of the cave in the blink of a human eye and already on his way to Max. Marko Followed cheering and whooping into the midnight with Paul shortly after. David was the last to leave as he flew there was no whooping, no cheers, just the silence of the night.

Landing at Max's Video Store they brushed themselves off and gathered themselves as best they could, the neon signs of the building lit the empty boardwalk and cast a purple glow over David's face. Being here he could feel something was going to happen. All the boys knew better than to go in through the front after hours so they walked to the back of the store and waited for Max to open the door. With a click the large man was holding open the door with and eerie smile.

"Ah boys there you are! Come in, Come in!" The jolly tone in his voiced was laced with something sinister. One by One the boys walked through the door Max ruffling each of their hair as they went by.  All but David.

"Tonight's all about you my boy try and perk up."David was looking at Max smiling down at him before he simply smiled and kept walking into the store going to light a cigarette. Quickly a large hand reached out to grab it form him.

"Now David, what have I told you about smoking in side here." Max simply laughed and thew the cigarette in the trash.

Max wasn't a violent man towards the boys, but he demanded respect in his family. Whatever he said goes and that was worried David the most. Max didn't care about humans unless they could be a good fit for his family, no matter how many lives he took he would never feel human. You could tell even in the way her acted, he smiled to much, or when he spoke it sounded like her practised in the mirror over and over again.

Clasping his hands together standing in front of the boys with his smile turned on full force he finally spoke.

"I bet you boys are wondering why I called you here tonight. Well the answer is simple. I have bought you a gift specifically for David something that will get him out of this horrendous mood hes been in for the last two decades." Max was absolutely giddy completely lost in how all the boys where trying to not give away the game.

"but before I get to give it to you, talk to me, you teenagers these days get a taste of freedom and completely forget all about your poor father." He spoke out in mock sadness. Part of it was true the boys stayed just out of reach for Max since the moment he turned them all. He did his best to control them, guide them in his own sick way, but part of him knew the moment they got the chance they would rather it be the four of them instead of the five.

Playing along Marko spoke up.

"Well pops, we killed a group of men who where drunk on the beach, they threw there trash everywhere so we cleaned up everything to." He smiled at the tall man who nodded.

"Very good, glad to see you boys arn't making a mess!" in a way he truly was proud of them.

"uh yeah and we have totally been on the look out of any lost little dudes" Paul stated knowing Max's weak spot.

"Wonderful, Wonderful! That brings us to Davids Surprise." As max walked into the back he heard movement. Fear. He was feeling fear. David was expecting the worst, that Max had turned Dawn, or even killed her in disapproval. What he got was so much worse.

Max walked out holding an unconscious girl her long wavy hair dragging across the floor as he smiled brightly to his boys. David was looking for a pulse and there was none, he knew it wasn't Dawn because this girl was tanner and thinner, She was attractive to any normal person but Davids entire soul had already been stolen.

"Now I know what you all are thinking and no this isn't Davids new sister. David my boy I think you have been alone for to long, I see you walk to boardwalk alone when your brother run off to cause trouble. I don't like it. As soon as I saw her I knew she would be perfect for you!" David was completely in shock. Max had lost his mind, he couldn't just expect this random girl to be Davids mate.

"I think that she will compliment you nicely, so my gift to you is my permission to have this girl as a mate to bring you our of the awful rebellious phase you have going on. Now you all have to help her you remember what it was like for all of you." He spoke about the girl in his arms as if they would be taking care of a dog. David felt pity for this girl, this stranger as max handed her off to him. Even carrying her felt wrong, but no one dared to give Max any reason to get mad.

"I don't even know her name." David was doing his best to hide his anger as he spoke through a tight lipped fake smile.

"What a gentleman I raised. Her name is Star son." Max put his hand on Davids back as he ushered them to the door "Now I better see you perk up a bit, and I defiantly want to see you two spending some time together!" He said with a smile before slamming the door closed leaving the boys standing out back.

They all knew to go directly home, directly somewhere they could talk about things. Placing Star on the couch as soon as they arrived. The boys followed David to somewhere quiet.

"This isn't good at all." Dwayne spoke first

"I don't get what the big deal is we just toss her over the cliff, easy peasey!" Paul spoke up getting hit in the back of the head by Marko

"Don't you get it you idiot Max is gonna be watching for David and Star together. If he sees Dawn with David, not only is he gonna know but hes gonna see her as a threat to his plan dude."

"Fuck your right dude, I don't want Max to hurt Dawn bro" Paul turned to David "What are we gonna do?"

David simply pulled out a cigarette and took a seat in his wheelchair. The thought of having to fake anything with Star made him sick to his stomach, knowing how much it would hurt Dawn to see Especially after yesterday.

All David could think was that everything was fucked.
