Everything seemed to swirl together as the music pounded on, everyone was so happy, and that's all Dawn wanted. Soon enough the laughter died out and each of the boys seemed to disappear from the dance floor, even Star managed to drag Micheal away and all that was left dancing, was David and the women who managed to bring color into his life.
Paul had managed to slip on This must be the place by Talking Heads knowing Dawnie had a soft spot for the band. Soft glowing lights littered the cave they wrapped the curvy girl in a warm glow. David's hands were held tightly on her lower back as they swayed to the music their closeness made her cheeks red. Oh, how David loved her covered in red.
"So sunshine, has this night been everything you wished it would be?"He looked down at her, his eyes searching for any sign she was slightly disappointed.
"It has been magical, you recovered nicely from the little hiccup early, but he seems like a nice guy for Star."She spoke softly a gentle laugh falling from her lips.
David managed to roll his eyes at her while shaking his head.
"A guy thinks he plans everything out." He let out a low chuckle
"David, I couldn't have imagined a better night. Thank you" He raised a hand off her waist and gently lifted her chin.
"I will do everything in my power to make every night this perfect for you. You have made me a better leader, and have managed to bring my brothers closer. Dawn you have brought a new life to me and if a few parties will keep that smile on your beautiful face we will party until the world burns." There was a passion and a rage in his eyes that she had seen a few times before, he took her breath away.
"Our life is already very complicated and I will do everything I can to protect you, and to figure it out. I promise."David took a step back as he saw everyone watching from the doorway, Micheal confused as the newest member. Paul and Marko couldn't stop smiling seeing David so soft but of course, only Dawn could bring it out of him. Star was crying and trying to hide it as best she could, it was so intimate. Dwayne was silent but the smile on his face was worth 1000 words.
It was time Dawn could feel it as she herself began to cry still wearing a smile that could always knock David on his ass.
He was nervously looking at her, his fingers seemed to fidget endlessly on their own and he reached into his pocket he pulled out a small black box.
"Just this once I'm going to act my age and be a gentleman," He laughed out not kneeling but standing with his arms outstretched, the now open box containing a ring, a thick gold band held a moonstone that seemed to glow in the full moon.
"We can never have a real wedding, but I can give you this. I can give you everything if you take this if you take the blood, the rage, my brothers. Me."David was giving her a chance to run, her ticket out, and he would let her go if it made her happy.
"Please don't say no! He's gonna be such a dick if you say no!"Paul yelled out only for everyone to hit him in the back of the head.
Dawn with happy tears streaming down her turned to laugh at her family, this was her family she realized. Running her hands across her face to brush away the tears she turned back to a clearly worried David.
"Now Paul why, on earth would I say no."She looked right at David when she spoke and as soon as the words left her mouth her feet were off the ground. He picked her up letting out a deep laugh as a few tears managed to slip out.
Dawn's hand rested on the back of his head while it was buried in her neck. While he held her in his arms she felt like she was flying high above the beautiful boardwalk where they met. Everyone was cheering when he finally placed her down slipped the ring on her finger and pulled her in for a kiss. Dwayne managed to snap a photo of the two as they stood there.
