I can't believe it... vampires really exist!!! - Part 1

School closed for the holidays.  Your vacation already started 6 days ago, and what were you doing these past few days so far?  Well… absolutely nothing, just sitting at home all day either watching DVD’s or listening to music or your personal favorite sleeping.  On Wednesday night you decided that you were going to go to the library to get some books to read the next day. 

                  

So the Thursday morning you woke up earlier than usual, you got dressed, drank a cup of coffee and then you were off to the library.  These past few days it’s been very rainy and cloudy, the sun barely came out to shine so it was damp and dark outside, but there was still enough light to see.  But you didn’t mind at all, after all you like the rain and you like the dark and you despise the sun.  You were close to the library when it started to rain so you quickly ran until you were inside.  There weren’t many people in the library it was actually very quiet. 

You decided to start searching for some books you would want to read but then you thought *What do I want to read about?*.  You stood there in the middle of the library thinking hard and then it struck you.  You started searching for books about vampires because you were absolutely crazy about them, you found them so fascinating and interesting.  You went to the section of the library labeled ‘Fiction’ and started browsing through the books.  You were searching for books that could tell you more about vampires, you already knew the basics like they drink blood, they can’t go into the sunlight, they don’t like garlic, their skin is cold and pale and so on.  But you wanted to get as many different books on them from different authors to compare the information of the books with each other, because everybody seems to have their own idea of what vampires are and what they can and can’t do.  A little while later you found a few books with the names ‘The Dracula Centenary Book’, ‘Vampires’, ‘Dracula was a woman’ and ‘The Vampire in legend, fact and art’.  You went to the back of the library where there are usually a few tables where you can sit and read.  Nobody else was back there so you sat down and started to read.

Not long and all the books you had with you were all spread out over the table as you read through passages and then compared them to some of the others that had the same subject. A few minutes later you let out a big sigh and leaned backwards into the chair sliding down a bit with your arms hanging down on either side.  Then you suddenly heard someone say “Wow it seems to me that you’re tired”.  It startled you and you jumped sitting up straight in the chair.  “Hahaha I’m sorry, did I scare you?” he asked.  You blushed slightly and replied “N-no I-I just didn’t know you were standing there”.  He smiled at you.  The man standing in front of you was kind of tall and very handsome.

You were staring at him without realizing it when he suddenly said “My name is Dante” and then you snapped out of your little daze and replied “My name is Lilly”.  He smiled at you and said “Nice to meet you Lilly” and held out his hand to you, you stood up and then you put your hand in his and said “Nice to meet you too” and you smiled closing your eyes.  Suddenly you felt something strange, when you opened your eyes you saw him kissing you on your hand.  You immediately started to blush a crimson red, he noticed it and smirked then he let go of your hand.  You sat back down on your chair and he went and sat in front of you on the other side of the table. 

            

You started to close all the books that were lying around on the table, while you were busy doing that he picked up one of the books and looked at it.  As you stacked the books onto each other he handed you the book he had and said “So… I see that you are interested in vampires” you looked at him and smiled “Yes, I am very interested in them”. “Really?” he asked looking at you a little surprised.  “Yup I’m a big fan haha” you said laughing nervously, “In fact I guess you could say I’m kinda obsessed with them, I think that they are awesome!!” you said with a huge smile.  He looked at you with a face that said ‘Is this girl for real?’ then a few seconds later he smile and said “Well that’s interesting, but tell me… don’t you find them frightening?”.  He looked at you with a serious expression on his face as he waited for your reply.  Your smile faded and you too put on a serious face as you replied “Not at all, I don’t find them frightening in any way.”  “Not even the fact that they drink blood?” he asked, “Nope not even that” you said.  “I’m not afraid of blood or violence, I’m not blood phobic” you said laughing slightly, he looked at you for a few seconds with a shocked expression on his face and then he smiled and said “Wow that’s something I thought I’d never hear a girl say”.  You looked at him tilting your head slightly to the left and said “Is it really that surprising?” “Yes it is, usually girls are easily frightened by violent and gruesome things.” He answered.  You looked at him for a few seconds then replied saying “Well then I guess I’m just weird”.  He looked a bit surprised by your reaction, but then smiled at you and said “No, not weird… interesting.”  You smiled back at him and then stood up.

You took the books you had and started to put them where you had found them.  As you were doing so you’re back was turned to Dante and a few seconds later you suddenly felt a cold hand touch your neck, but when you turned around no one was behind you and Dante was still sitting at the table.  You thought *That was weird… heh must have been my imagination*.  As you were putting away the last book Dante stood up and walked over to you “Have you always liked vampires?” he asked.  You turned around to face him “Yes, ever since I was little I’ve been interested in them.” you said smiling, a few seconds later your smile faded and you looked at him with a sad expression and said “… but unfortunately they don’t exist”.  He looked a bit surprised but then he softly said “Yea… they don’t exist”. 

                      

You looked at your watch and saw it was already past 12 pm and today was your turn to make lunch.  “I’m sorry, but I have to go now I’m already late, bye see you” you said as you grabbed your bag and ran past Dante waving at him.  He looked at you surprised and then quickly yelled “Wait! When will I be able to see you again!?” “I’ll be here again tomorrow morning!” you yelled back at him.  With that said you ran out of the library and down the streets to get to your home as quickly as possible.  When you got home you were out of breath, but very happy because today was interesting.  You made lunch then watched TV until it was time to go to bed.  So you took a bath and then went to bed.  You lay in bed thinking about today and smiled then slowly drifted off to sleep.
