Silver and Zara went upstairs and watched pokemon together. Team Rocket had just been blown to the skies by pikachu's thunderbolt.

"Team Rocket never learns." Zara laughed.

"Why doesn't Meowth fight back?" Silver asked. "Does he not know any good attacks yet?"

"I think that Meowth is just too lazy to fight." Zara replied. "I bet that's why Team Rocket always lose."

It was already night and a full moon was out. Silver looked out the window and saw that the moon was a strange red color.

"Zara is the moon supposed to be that color?" She asked pointing outside. Zara looked outside and saw the red moon.

"I think grown ups call that a lunar eclipse or something like that." She explained to her friend. "But other people call it a blood moon. Its really rare to see one."

"How come?" Silver asked. Zara shrugged.

Suddenly there was a huge boom from the outskirts of the village.

"Those were some pretty big fireworks." Zara said covering her ears.

"But its not the fourth of July yet." Silver said also covering her ears. "Why are they doing fireworks?"

The two girls looked outside and saw their village engulfed in fire.

"Those are not fireworks." The both said at the same time. Suddenly Silver's mom came rushing into the room.

"Silver and Zara, you have to go to the cave right now!" She said with urgency in her voice.

"But what's happening to Tsuki Village?" Zara asked.

"There's no time!" Silver's mom grabbed the two and carried them to the garden. She quickly gave Silver a kiss on the forehead.

"I promise that everything will be alright." Silver's mother said. "But for now you and Zara must hide in the cave and don't come out until I come to get you."

The frightened kids quickly nodded and slid down the same slide into the Glowing Cave.

"What's going on here?" Silver asked once they made it to the bottom.

"I really don't know." Zara said. "But just like your mom said, we have to stay here until all this craziness is over with."

Silver and Zara went into the small room they were in yesterday. They heard footsteps coming into the house.

"Tell us where the kids are!" A male voice commanded. "We know they're here!"

"The ones you are looking for are gone." Silver's mom said. "You will never find them."

Silver was now shaking violently with fear. Did she and Zara do something wrong? What do these people want with them? Soon Zara wrapped her arms around her scared friend, trying to comfort her. Silver didn't hesitate to return the embrace. They stayed like that hugging each other hearing more explosions.

"Search the entire house!" The same voice yelled. "Tear the whole place down if you have to!"

"These guys are nuts!" Silver cried. "They can't just break people's houses!" She held on to Zara tighter, tears streaming down her eyes. The two girls sat there for what seemed like hours until the destructive noises subsided.

"What's going on now?" Silver asked.

"I don't know." Zara said. "But I'm not sure if I want to find out."

Silver got up and walked to the exit. She had to know if her mom was alright. Wanting to make sure her companion is safe, Zara followed despite the fear of what just happened.

They reached the rope ladder and froze there for a second. Silver then turned to Zara.

"Stay here." She said. "I'll make sure no one see us coming out."

Before Zara could say no, the silver haired girl climbed up the ladder of rope. Silver poked her head out of the small doors and scanned the area. No one was is sight and everything seemed normal, which made her happy yet worried. Did her mom forget to grab them. Shaking that thought out of her head, Silver glanced down at her raven haired friend.

"I don't see anyone so it should be safe to come out." She whispered. Zara nodded and made her way up to the surface. Silver went into the kitchen and saw a horrifying sight.

Once Zara saw Silver just standing, she knew something was wrong. She went to Silver's side and also saw she never wanted to see.

Silver's mother was on the floor surrounded in a pool of her own blood. Silver simply stood there and cried. Zara also cried as she hugged her friend tightly.

"Zara let's go to your house." Silver said in a shaky voice. "We need to make sure that the same thing didn't happen to your mom."

Zara was surprised at Silver's words. She just found out that who ever destroyed her house had also killed her only guardian and she was worried about Zara's parent. Zara reluctantly nodded as the two walked out the house. Once they were outside, Tsuki Village had completely changed. Practically everything was burned down and pillars of smoke filled the air.

"Our moms weren't kidding when they talked about the monsters." Zara said. Silver nodded in agreement.

"I found the kids!" A voice said. Silver and Zara turned to see a man with brown hair wearing a lab coat with a creature that looked liked a human and yet it resembled a lion. Silver and Zara froze with fear not knowing what to do. The inhuman creature growled and slowly made its way to the frightened children.

Knowing that they couldn't just sit there and let this monster do whatever it wanted to do with them, Zara grabbed Silver's hand and ran as fast as she could.

"Zara! Where are we going?!" Silver asked. "Your house is the other way!"

"Silver, I know this is super scary and I want to know if my mom is okay too but right now we have to get out of this place." Zara said running faster. Silver was having a hard time catching up and almost stumbled every now and then. The two girls heard growling from behind them which meant that the lion-human thing was chasing them.

Suddenly another creature appeared in front of them. It resembled a tiger but still had human parts. Silver and Zara were surrounded. The man in the lab coat caught up to the two creatures. He looked down at Silver and Zara.

"Alright kids you have nowhere to run." He said. "So just make it easier on all of us and come with me."

"No!" Silver and Zara shouted. The man simply chuckled.

"You two are just little girls who can't defend themselves." He said. "Do you really think that you can stand up to me and my hybrids?"

Without further delay, the man swooped up Silver and Zara. They both struggled and squrimed but they couldn't get out of their captor's grip. The two girls were roughly thrown into a cage and were taken to what will be a living nightmare.
