Silver was the first to wake up back in the glass dome. Her whole body ached as she looked to see Zara unconscious. Panicked, Silver shook Zara's shoulders calling her name.
"Come on Zara wake up already!" She pleaded. Zara stired and opened her eyes. She slowly sat up and then gasped staring at her sister.
"Silver your eyes!" She exclaimed. Silver tilted her head in confusion.
"What about them?" She asked.
"They changed color." Zara replied. Silver looked at the glass dome, her reflection staring back. Her eyes had indeed changed to a yellow color. She then looked back at Zara who also had her eyes change color.
"Same thing happened to you." Silver stated. "Your eyes are red."
Zara simply nodded.
"How did this all happen?" Silver asked. "I can't remember a thing."
Zara shrugged. "I can't remember either."
Then Professor Haze walked up to the two girls.
"Well well," he said smiling. "It looks like you two did survive the hybridization. But it seems like you only needed a week to recover."
Silver and Zara glared at the scientists. They suddenly remembered everything that happened. Thanks to Professor Haze, they were now hybrids.
"What do you want?" Zara hissed.
"Just need to have you take a test." Haze replied blankly. "I'm sure you two are already used to them since you do them everyday."
"You mean the fighting?" Silver asked.
"If that's so, when do we get to destroy a filthy human like yourself?" Zara asked threateningly.
" Just try to cooperate this time." Haze sighed in annoyance. "I've had enough of your rebellious acts for quite awhile."
That's when the two girls saw the huge scar on Professor Haze's neck.
"When did he get that?" Silver whispered. Zara grinned and pointed to herself.
"From yours truly." She said proudly.
Suddenly the two hybrids were dragged out of their glass dome and lead to the arena. They decided to go easy on Professor Haze for now and simply followed.
On the way there Silver and Zara planned their escape in secret.
"So what do we have to do to get out of here?" Zara whispered.
"Obviously the first step is to get Haze out of our way." Silver answered in the same voice level. "But we can't do that quite yet until we now what kind of hybrids we're turning to. I suggest we wait until our animal parts appear and start from there."
Zara nodded as they finally made it to the arena.
"As usual we'll start with experiment eighty three." Haze said. Silver simply nodded and went into the battle field.
"He really likes to go in numerical order does he?" Zara thought.
Suddenly an eagle hybrid showed up prepared to fight Silver. The new hybrid growled and went into a fighting stance. When Zara observed a little more closely, Silver's position resembled a wolf fighting stance and her growling sounded like an actual dog.
The eagle hybrid rose to the air and then shot straight down at Silver. With previous expirence from the other battles that were forced upon the girls, the gray haired girl side stepped dodging. The flying hybrid used its brown wings to prevent crashing to the ground at the last second. Silver then tackled her opponent to the ground, pinning it down with her new acquired claws.
The eagle hybrid thrashed around until its claws dug into Silver's shoulders. Silver growled in pain but refused to loosen her grip. She grabbed the wings of the hybrid and stood up.
"You shouldn't listen to those humans." She said to her opponent. "Or else a stray like me will show no mercy."
Silver then bent the hybrid's wings backwards causing them to break. Silver's foe screeches in agony as the gray haired hybrid dropped it to the ground walking away to the exit.
As Silver walked out, Zara entered. The second they crossed paths, Zara gave her sister a message.
"We'll play it cool until we have a chance to find out what we're becoming."
Silver nodded and sat in front of the gate. Professor Haze gave her a funny look.
"What?" Silver asked innocently. "You said not to give you trouble."
Haze simply sighed and began to scribble down something on a clipboard. Silver began watching Zara fight a leopard hybrid. The battle probably lasted as long as Silver's duel if not shorter.
Zara was faced with a leopard hybrid which she easily defeated. The opponent dashed towards Zara but the raven haired girl jumped high as of she was flying in a way and came crashing down on the leopard hybrid causing it to be knocked out almost instantly by a head injury.
Zara waltzed out of the arena and helped Silver up to her feet. Professor Haze kept a close eye on them. He was becoming suspicious about the two girls' sudden cooperation.
"So how did we do?" Zara asked. Professor Haze looked at her.
"Well both of you did pass but next time try not to kill the other experiments." He answered. Zara simply rolled her eyes as they followed the scientist back to their glass dome. Once inside Silver noticed that Zara had strange markings on her elbow. Were they scales? She then felt something growing on her hand. She looked and saw silver tufts of fur on her palms.
"Hey Zara, I think I figured out what kind of hybrids we are now." Silver said smiling.
"Really?" Zara asked. "Then what are we now?"
"I'm turning into a wolf." Silver answered. "And you're becoming a dragon."
