Spring had faded into a memory, and summer's scorching embrace was drawing near, accompanied by the first light of dawn. For omegas, the passing of spring often brought relief from their heats, but for alphas, it heralded an entirely new kind of torment: the seasonal cycle of alphas.

It was a challenge that tested even the strongest. Studies confirmed that summer was the most intense and dangerous of all seasons for alphas, when their instincts surged, and self-control frayed like thread under strain. Pureblooded alphas, their genetic lineage amplifying every impulse, were said to endure cycles twice as potent as their lesser counterparts.

For their partners, it was a battle of stamina and endurance. For their friends? A test of nerves.

"Fuck this," Jeno groaned, his voice low and strained as beads of sweat dotted his brow. His usually composed demeanor was replaced by a raw, feral tension. He sat slouched on the office sofa, his broad frame trembling slightly as he struggled to maintain control over his hormones.

"JENO, WAIT!" Jaemin yelped, panicked. He threw himself between his best friend and the door, his omega instincts on full alert. "Why the hell are you even here?!"

Jeno's lips curled into a weak smirk despite the overwhelming discomfort. "My cycle usually starts in the second week of the season," he gritted out, his voice laced with restrained pain.

"Well, congratulations! Climate change just fucked you over!" Jaemin snapped, his hands flailing in a mixture of exasperation and terror.

Despite himself, Jeno chuckled at his friend's melodramatic panic, though it quickly faded as he inhaled deeply, trying to steady the storm raging inside him.

"Don't laugh! Do something! What do I do?!" Jaemin fretted, pacing back and forth as he avoided getting too close to the rutting alpha.

Jeno exhaled slowly, shaking his head. "Harin."

"What?"

"Kwon Harin."

Jaemin blinked, confused. "Riri? What about her? Oh my god, she's an alpha too! Do you want me to check on her?!"

"No," Jeno growled, the sharpness in his tone making Jaemin flinch. "Get her here."

"What do you—"

"Actually, no. Help us both to my car."

Jaemin froze, his confusion deepening. "What the hell are you even saying right now? Do you want me to help her first? Or you? Or—oh my god, is this just me being dumb?!"

"Move," Jeno snapped, his patience running thin.

In the end, Jaemin and Renjun managed to half-drag, half-carry Jeno's towering frame out of the building, the alpha's presence drawing wary stares from passersby. Rutting alphas were rare enough, but one like Jeno? Pureblooded and reeking of primal dominance? That was enough to send omegas scrambling out of range.

Jaemin didn't stop to care about the awkward glances or his own mounting nerves. He had a mission. After helping settle Jeno into his car, he sprinted back inside, weaving through hallways like a man possessed.

"RIRI!" he shouted, his voice echoing. "Quick! Jeno's calling for you!"
