It was just another typical day of classes break more classes lunch and finally more classes at least that is what I thought it was there is a girl at this school that goes by the name of Adele. Her name is ment to mean Nobel but being the toughest bully in the school that no one dares to talk back to she is anything but Nobel and to be honest, she is scarier to me than my worst nightmare because she is real. I made my way through the hall as I made my way to the library to study as I always do when lunch rolls around, I kept my head down I hate to be the centre of attention. I wasn't looking where I was going and bumped into someone, I took a few steps back and apologised and then looked up freezing at the one I had bumped it to, it had to be her, of course it was her who else. I closed my eyes waiting for some kind of pain to knock me to the ground just like the others but I felt nothing I opened my eyes slowly and she just walked right past me. I stood there shocked until I realised that all eyes were on me not wanting to be the centre of everyone's attention so I dashed off to the library where I was greeted by probably the only friend I will ever make in this school Sophia (her name ment wisdom).
"Hey Aly," She said, my full name was Alyssa (My name ment rational which is partly true) but she called me Aly for short.
"Hey Sophia," I said I like how her name had Greek origin classics being my favourite subject.
"God it feels like forever ago we were just freshmen and now look at us sophomore's I know it has only been two weeks, but I still feel like nothing has changed since freshman year you know," Sophia said making me smile.
"Things have changed though," I said as we sat in a corner of the library.
"I know, for one that girl what was her name Adele I think anyway by the end of her freshmen year she had the whole year fearing her including us and all the bullies from the higher years are scared of her," Sophia said.
"I kind of had a run-in with her today," I said which I could tell by the look on her face that it had shaken Sophia to her core.
"Oh my god, are you okay did she hurt you I can't imagine what she must have done," Sophia said and I let her have her moment not being able to stop her.
"I'm fine it was weird she didn't do anything she just walked past me without a word," I said.
"Maybe it's a scare tactic," Sophia said with a snap.
"Shut up," I said with a laugh as I gave her a playful shove.
I was able to make it through the last of my classes with ease and no one coming up and asking what happened in the hall as I was sure the rumour was spreading. I got to the parking lot and hopped in my sister's car that was already waiting for me with her in the driver's seat she looked at me and then smiled I smiled back and she drove off.
"So how was school?" She said. My sister was two years above me but even she was scared of Adele and judging by her question she wanted to hear the story from me.
"If you referring to what happened this afternoon I don't want to talk about it," I said
"Oh come on I have a direct link to one of the schools biggest pieces of gossip and you won't let me in on it?" My sister said.
"That about sums it up yeah," I said leaning back in my seat.
"Fine on another note as it is your sophomore year have you found anyone yet?" My sister said she always wants to know this stuff.
"No, I haven't," I said
"Dame that's a shame," My sister said as she tilted her head and then I saw it she was wearing a very specific earring.
"So when is he coming over?" I asked.
"Huh, what are you talking about?" She said.
"You are wearing an earring and you hardly ever do but not just any earring I specifically remember that that earring is one that your boyfriend got you for your birthday so you put it on whenever he comes over so when?" I asked.
"Damn your observant," My sister said.
"A gift of mine," I said.
"He will be coming over at around 4 and is staying for dinner so play nice," My sister said I was not a huge fan of my sister's boyfriend but I guess I could handle one meal with him.
"Fine," I said.
We got home and I headed straight to my room as no one was going to be back until 5 so I had some free time I hopped on my bed and opened up my laptop to see a Skype from Clara a friend of Sophia's. As I could guess that she now knows as well I give her a call over Skype to avoid an awkward moment typing messages out we knew each other but wouldn't call us friends she may think differently.
"Hey Clara," I said as she picked up.
"Did you get my message?" She said.
"Yeah I got it but I really don't want to talk about it," I said.
"Come on I have a direct line to the sours of probably the biggest piece of school gossip for a month and you won't tell me anything," Clara said bringing my mind back to what my sister said on the way back.
"You know my sister said pretty much the same thing," I said.
"Oh, Sam?" Clare said my sister's real name was Samantha but everyone called her Sam as did I.
"Yeah and I didn't tell her anything," I said.
"Did you tell anyone?" Clara asked.
"Will me telling you stop the rumours from spreading?" I asked.
"No but it lessens the possibility of you being the centre of attention for the next 3 months," Clara said.
"I told Sophia so talk to her if you want more," I said.
I then ended the call and got on with my homework classics being my favourite subject made all the homework for that not only easy but fun and enjoyable, the rest of my classes not so much. Maths, English, social studies and drama were the worst Economics was okay but still not on the level of classics after two hours I was done so I got dressed and ready for dinner with my sister's boyfriend.
