Palin watched the scene unfold in front of her eyes in utter shock.

The spell. She had casted the spell to put the prince in a dazed state, lay with him and take control of his body. The act of Inter course between the two would have connected their souls, and Kai being a normal human being with no magic, he would turn into a life puppet. Something she could control at will. But that wasn't happening.

Kai's body had floated down to the floor. Yes, floated. He then convulsed once or twice before going still. She tried to touch him but his body emitted such strong force it knocked her metres away.

Then an halo surrounded his body, it was made of white and blue light.

The protection shield of her, the savior, his destined mate, the  Chosen one.

She gasped in realization. She was alive. The Chosen one was alive. It was IRIS.

The bracelet on Kai's hand was still glowing a warm brown color confirming her suspicion.

"she was supposed to be dead," Palin mumbled in disbelief.

Iris whipped her head around so fast that she was sure if not for the shocking words she heard, she would have felt nauseous.

"I don't appreciate your sense of humor goddess," she said irritated.

"I think you wouldn't say I'm humorous if you watched this."

In front of her appeared a magical screen.

Iris walked through the murky path leading to the stream. Maidens always came out today to gather flowers. They were scattered around the space. There weren't a lot of them that day, she had realized. They greeted as she passed with a bow.

She walked on, something had been calling or was it just her. She felt the pull towards the stream.

On arrival, she watched in shock at a scene she wished was just a dream.

The black smoke.

She had learned at a young age of what that was and she didn't like it. The cracks of a portal, and the black smoke was coming through it.

She turned around when she heard the cracking of leaves behind her.

Goddess Nelik stood a few feet away from her.

"She can't hold it any longer," iris knew what she meant by  'she' and 'it'.

"you have been Chosen to lead the Kingdom to victory."

"what?!" Iris was a warrior but this was too much for her to accept.

She also knew that fate was unchangeable. So this was the call. She had thought that it was just an imagination and the pull was just her body wanting to have a deep into the stream but lo and behold there was no mistake.

Her legs gave way when a surging force plummeted through her body. She felt as if her blood was replaced by lava, too painful she thought clutching at her chest.
Cold sweat dotted her forehead.

She looked up through her eyes and saw the goddess, she was floating few metres from the ground, her eyes were closed and she was mumbling some words. Her body was emitting blue and white light which surged through the air towards Iris before painfully absorbing through her palms.

The torturous adventure came to an end. She slumped into a sitting position and watched as goddess Nelik floated back to the ground.

"It is time for your training, the war is near," she said before disappearing.
