'That felt so real!' Iris thought as she looked around in confusion. How could she explain that. She was so sure that she had lived that moment earlier or it couldn't have felt so familiar.

Putting that aside, Iris began to read.

A lot of what was written was already known to her. No new findings and she was getting frustrated and tired. She needed a little clue to her dilemma and maybe that one clue would definately help her kingdom from the impending doom. She was certain that the book wasn't on the table by coincidence. It was there because it was important. She had to find something. With that hope, she continued to read.

Palin paced in her chambers in a fit of anger.
"How dare he? Was this how he was supposed to treat a princess?" She seethed angrily and cleared the table breaking everything on it.

"If he knew who I was, how many people were afraid of hearing my name and how many suitors were at my disposal he would respect me." Palin said menacingly. Her eyes had completely turned red.

Then she laughed.

"Poor Kai, I trapped him well." She smirked evilly as she traced her index finger across the chair he (Kai) loved to sit everytime he came to her chambers.

"How gullible! With just a little attention, the foolish heir of these great realm, fell in love and sealed the fate of his own kingdom's future! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! It's a pity." Palin served herself a drink and sat on Kai's chair. Her eyes which had already turned back to normal concentrated on the door.

She smirked as she remembered Iris' look when she realized who she (Palin) was.

Iris

The name brought a new fit of rage and she hurled the glass of wine she was holding to the wall scattering it's contents on the wall and the floor.

"She never minds her own business, does she?" Palin seethed and gripped angrily on the chair before throwing it across the room.

"She first took the prince, then my position,  made me bow to her as my queen and now she can't keep her nose away from my business!"

"Now she can't expose me. She'll have to die soon. But before that, I'll have to do my first task tonight then I'll see who will stop my mother from conquering this Kingdom!"

Kai had already stopped reading the book and was in deep thought.

Did he commit a mistake by bringing Palin in the kingdom? His people had lost trust on him, he could clearly tell that.

'Palin showed genuine concern to me when I was lonely back then, I can't just leave her alone.' he thought staring blankly at the wall across him.

Iris

She is something else. He thought. He couldn't comprehend how he had completely started saying so. She was his wife but she never flaunted her position, she was always thinking of her kingdom first and nothing else. He definitely understood his father's choice then.

She was different from Palin. Very different. Palin, he had to admit, was no match for her when it came to the welfare of the people, composure and surprisingly beauty.

These days he was beginning to spend time stalking her but she was slippery.

He then remembered something and stood up abruptly. He could have sworn earlier that she had came to the library. Then where was she?

He then saw Sir Oslo pacing in front of the fireplace and decided to ask him.

... The savior can  leave only after completing her mission.

Under no circumstances would she be exposed to the people before her time of action, she will live her childhood years normally.

She acquire her full powers on her 18th birthday. In the time of her turning, she alone will be led to the sacred stream and there she would receive her powers from the goddess and the former chosen ones.

Two moons will be spend in isolation in the cave behind that stream while she learns how to use those powers.

On going back she would be introduced to the people by the mark on her forehead. She would then be bonded to the prince and her full powers would come to be.

She will be ready then.

Huh?! Iris gaped at the book in awe before reading it over again. Nothing was out of ordinary but..... Leave only after the mission?

Does this mean she can't leave before that? What is to 'leave'? Iris worried her lower lip and for the first time hoped that she had a few heads to help her in that. Who would help her?

If it was true that the dark realm couldn't open the portal before then why was the guardian lantern off? Where was the savior. As it is, she wanted to believe that 'leaving' meant dying. Holding to that hope she Opened the last page of the book.

"I saw The Queen in waiting coming this way, sir Oslo, where is she?" prince Kai asked.

Sir Oslo halted his reading and looked up to the Prince. He could never tell him where she was even if he wanted.

Putting on a serious face, he cleared his throat pretended to look around and said.

" If you saw her, she must be around then"

"right" Kai said doubting his sight for the first time. Sir Oslo had looked at him weirdly as he said that as if he didn't see her himself.

Prince Kai went back to his desk and sat down. He stared blankly at the page in front of him and yawned. He needed a nap.
