The living room was empty when Yoohyeon arrived home 15 minutes later. She threw her backpack onto the sofa and stomped upstairs. 'I swear I'm gonna kill you if you were lying about dinner being ready-' She flung open Bora's door to reveal her sister aggressively making out with another girl. 'Oh, shit,' she closed it immediately.

The door opened again 5 seconds later and a slightly disheveled Bora stomped out. 'Bitch, don't you ever knock?' She demanded, slapping the younger girl on the arm. Yoohyeon scoffed. 'Not my fault that you didn't lock the door,' she argued, smacking her sister's shoulder in return. Bora huffed and threw herself at Yoohyeon, who yelped and attempted to push her off.

'She has a point, babe.' The unfamiliar girl spoke up, putting an end to what probably would have ended up in a 17 year old girl being strangled to death by her older sister. 'Fine, but only because you said so.' Bora let go of Yoohyeon's arms and smiled lovingly at the other girl who was now sitting cross legged on Bora's bed. Yoohyeon faked gagging, which earned her another smack on the back from her dear sister.

'So are you going to keep me in the dark or are you finally going to tell me who the heck this girl is and what she's doing in our house?' Yoohyeon spun around to face her sister, who had already retreated to her position in the girl's arms. Bora's face lit up like a lightbulb. 'Isn't it obvious? I told you we were going to have someone over for dinner.' She stood up, beaming. 'Well, meet my girlfriend. This is Siyeon.'

Yoohyeon gasped dramatically. 'She's real? ' She let out in an exaggerated stage whisper. 'Sorry, I just didn't think you would ever be able to get a girlfr-' She was cut off by Bora who kicked her in the knee with a smirk on her face. 'Excuse you, look who's single.' Bora snorted. 'I'm miles above you in terms of relationships.'

'Miles above me, yet you're still nearly a head shorter than me,' Yoohyeon retorted, ducking the punch Bora threw in her direction. She turned to Siyeon. 'Seriously though, I honestly thought this dwarf was making you up. Now I finally get to meet you in person,' she remarked, ignoring her sister muttering something about her not having any respect for her elders. Siyeon chuckled. 'Nice to meet you, Yoohyeon. Bora have told me a lot of... interesting tales about you.'

'Basically about how much I hate you. You're welcome,' Bora piped up, shooting her a victorious grin. Yoohyeon shrugged.

'I'm sure you did. But,' she turned her attention back to Siyeon and put on a serious face, taking a step closer. 'As annoying as she is, I still care about her. So make sure you treat her right, okay?' She warned, waving a finger in Siyeon's face. 'If you leave her heartbroken, you're gonna regret it. And I'm telling you, if you ever hurt her in any way - I mean it, any way - I won't be letting you get away with it. She's not your toy and she's not your puppet, so make sure to consider her feelings first.' With a final warning note, she stepped back.

Siyeon's face remained expressionless as she nodded solemnly. Then she cracked up. 'Are you sure you're the youngest in this room? Because you sound like my mom.' She commented, wheezing loudly. The moment was interrupted when Bora's phone buzzed with a notification. 'Oh, look! The takeaway is arriving in five minutes. Yooh, we ordered your favorite Chinese food-'

'Oh my god, Bora. You officially suck.' Yoohyeon announced. 'Your first time having your girlfriend over for dinner and you're getting takeaway? Shouldn't you at least cook something yourself, make her a romantic dinner or something?'

'You really wouldn't miss out a chance in the world to diss me, would you?' Bora narrowed her eyes, a hint of annoyance in her voice. 'Kim Yoohyeon, you-'

'Children, children!' Siyeon waved her arms around to get their attention. 'I know you had a long and tiring day at kindergarten, but that bickering of yours is getting very unamusing.' She wrapped an arm around her girlfriend's shoulders. 'I don't mind having takeaway, as long as I get to spend it with the one I love.' Which led to another round of them attacking each other with kisses.

To Yoohyeon's relief, the doorbell rung, giving her a chance to escape the awkward situation she got herself into. She bounced downstairs to answer the door, spreading out the takeaway boxes on the table before calling the two older girls down for dinner.

That night, as Bora gushed over the story of how she met Siyeon, who was a vocal coach at the entertainment company she worked at as a choreographer, all Yoohyeon could think about was the girl she had met earlier at the cafe, who she had spent an enjoyable afternoon with. Minji seemed so nice and friendly.

Then it occurred to her that it might all be some sort of show Minji was putting on. An illusion. After all, it wasn't the first time anyone had made an effort to be nice to her, and no one is ever nice for nothing. They just met, so Minji had no reason to treat her to a drink. She must have been lying when she said she didn't know about Yoohyeon. If that was the case, then Minji was a true master at masking her true intentions.

But again, something inside her told her to at least give the barista a chance. She remembered her warm and gentle eyes, her genuine smile. The way Minji spoke... it almost made her feel safe.

Yoohyeon shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts and push down the doubt that was slowly creeping in. She stirred her noodles with her chopsticks, the soup sloshing around the sides, and tried to make a decision.

She decided to give Minji a chance.
