Minji flicked a couple of crumbs off the counter with a cloth as she tried not to doze off. Due to the cold weather, the heater was on and the temperature was just right. She could practically feel her eyelids drooping lower and lower, threatening to flutter shut any second.
It was then when her phone vibrated in her other hand, causing her to jump in surprise. She was about to ignore the text messages that had popped up in her screen when she realised who they were from.

Hey Minji
I know we haven't talked in a while
I know I made you mad that day, and I'm really sorry. You don't have to forgive me, I deserve it anyway
Just wanted to let you know
'Holy shit,' Minji breathed, her sleepiness long forgotten.
Minji
Nono, I'm not mad at all! I was just really worried about you
What happened? Are you okay?
She thought for a while before adding,

Did he hurt you?
Yoohyeon
I'm fine. Sorry for worrying you
And no, he didn't hurt me >v<
He's a friend who just happened to be a little bit drunk that day
Minji let out a sigh of relief upon hearing the younger girl's explanation.

Glad to know that you're fine though!
I know this is a bit sudden, but do you wanna hang out tomorrow?
I really miss hanging out with you :(
Minji waited patiently as the words 'Yoohyeon is typing...' lit up at the top of her screen for a few seconds, disappeared, then reappeared again. Finally, Yoohyeon's response came through.

Minji put down her phone and let out a happy sigh. Yoohyeon was finally willing to open up to her, even if only slightly.
She closed her eyes momentarily, feeling the sleepiness creeping back in. Perhaps it was from satisfaction. Or maybe she just needed more sleep.
But her peaceful state immediately dissolved into thin air when she heard the back door slam and the scream of a voice that sounded way too familiar for her liking, 'MINJI UNNIE!!!'
