Yoohyeon sat outside the cafe and waited for Minji, occasionally sneaking glances through the glass window, hoping to catch a glimpse of the brown haired girl. It was a normal workday at the cafe. She could recognise Handong at the counter, smiling at a customer while taking their order, but Minji was nowhere to be seen.

10:09 am. She watched customers come and go, but there was still no sign of Minji.

By the time it was 10:21, Yoohyeon was fairly sure that she had been played, and that she had fallen right into some kind of trap Minji had set down for her. If Minji's plan was to make her feel even more pathetic than she already did, then she did one hell of a job.

Her train of thoughts were interrupted when her phone rang in her hand. Unknown number. She got these calls quite often, usually when people were too lazy to bother her through text, but even during the holidays? Really? But again, no one really gives a fuck about her feelings, so that was kind of expected.

'Is this Yoohyeon?' Without waiting for her reply, the person on the phone continued, 'Anyway, there's a package waiting for me at the post office. I need it before 5pm.'

'Where-' Yoohyeon started, and was met by a beeping sound. The person had hung up. '...Where do you live, you didn't even tell me where you live. How the fuck am I supposed to bring you anything.' She muttered angrily, speaking to no one in particular. 'I'm sure you're perfectly capable of spending ten minutes of your life to walk to the post office and get it yourself.'

But she knew better than to risk her life by disobeying. You never knew what people might do to you. She made a mental reminder to deliver the package and got up to leave. There was no use staying here any longer, so-

'Yoohyeon!' A voice stopped her in her tracks. 'Yoohyeon, wait!'

Yoohyeon turned around slowly. There she was, Minji, bent over and panting with her hands on her knees. 'Wait, I can explain!'

Yoohyeon fixed her with an icy stare. 'What do you want.' She said, her voice stone cold.

'I-I know I'm late... I told my parents I'm going out with a friend and they bombarded me with questions on who you are and how we met, and where we were going. I know they mean well, but they're just... really overprotective. I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting,' Minji blurted out in one go, inhaling a deep breath afterwards. 'I'm sorry.' She said again. She looked as if she was about to cry.

Yoohyeon said nothing, just stood there as she searched Minji's face for any sign of falsehood. She found none. Instead, the girl in front of her seemed to cower under her intense stare. She felt her gaze soften and she looked away.

'I thought you ditched me.' She said quietly, not looking at her.

'What? No.' Minji sounded hurt. 'Yoohyeon, please know that I would never do such a thing. Especially not to you.'

Yoohyeon nodded, gulping. Then, in an attempt to change the topic, 'So where are we going?'

Minji brightened up. 'Oh! About that... you'll see when we get there.' She smiled mischievously. Then she added, 'Don't worry, I promise I'm not trying to kidnap you or something.'

Yoohyeon let out a genuine laugh, not noticing the happy smile on Minji face as she did so. She continued laughing until her sides ached, and she collapsed onto the pavement.

'What's so funny?' Minji protested, upset by the fact that she had been left out of the joke, but also relieved that she had made the younger girl laugh.

'You...' Yoohyeon spluttered, her face red from laughter. 'You, a kidnapper? You look like you won't even hurt a fly!'

'Oh, really?' Minji raised her eyebrows.

'Yes.'

'I actually learned wrestling before, you know.'

Yoohyeon smiled. 'I don't believe you.'

The corners of Minji's lips curled up in a devilish grin. 'Well, if you need proof...' She took a step towards the other girl and reached out her arm.

Yoohyeon, sensing danger, squeaked, 'N-no thanks, I'll pass!' and took off running. Minji chased after her, and much to the annoyance of the people passing by, the two girls raced each other down the street, their laughter echoing throughout the early winter air.
