He had warned you.
He had warned you and you had been stubborn and noble and stupid. And now Ada was dead when you should've just told everyone to leave. Or better yet, left by yourself. Abandoned the Resistance like a coward.
Boots hitting the concrete hard, you pushed yourself through the city. You knew that somewhere behind you, Olix was following. The further away from the casinos you were, the less likely the Stormtroopers would follow. For all they cared, you were more trouble than you were worth.
What was supposed to be another "simple" mission for the Resistance ended in blaster fire and the loss of a fighter. And this time, there was no hope of getting her back. You had watched as the light faded from Ada's eyes, her blood was stained on your hands and clothes.
What's worse is that part of you was relieved that she was dead.
She knew, she heard you admit that you had fucked Kylo Ren at least twice, proving that her suspicions about you were completely founded. You didn't doubt that as soon as you had returned to the Resistance she would have exposed you, turned you over to General Organa for literally sleeping with the enemy.
And you couldn't even use the excuse that you were just doing it for survival.
Shaking your head to clear out these distracting worries, you grabbed the comm you had- at the last second- taken from Ada's body.
"Bea!"
Through the comm came the crackle of Bea's voice saying your name, clearly confused that it wasn't Ada.
"Ada's gone. Get the transport ready, I'll be there soon."
"Gone? As in-"
"As in, she's not coming back." It was hard to be snarky when you were currently pushing your body to its physical limit, running like flames were licking at your heels. But somehow you managed to do it, annoyed and mad at everything. At Ada, for dying. At the First Order, for being here. At Kylo Ren, for being a confusing bastard who you couldn't be mad at. At the Resistance, for sending you on these stupid missions.
"Oh-" You weren't sure if the crack in Bea's voice came from her or the comm. "Yeah, the transport will be ready for you." She paused. "Be safe."
"The worst is behind me." Looking over your shoulder, you only saw confused civilians and tourists staring after you, some looking more miffed that you had dared to run through the city like a street urchin who had stolen a loaf of bread. Others simply rolled their eyes and continued with their day, clearly unaware of the mess that awaited them at the Casino Complex.
But you didn't slow your pace, continuing down the streets as fast as you could possibly go. Stealth may be your strong suit, but somehow you managed to get across the city with little to no incidents all while using the main streets. Alleyways when it was faster, but you didn't want to chance getting lost when you needed to be off the planet.
You mentally planned out your next few moments, trying to distract yourself from everything else.
When you get to the shore where Bea has the transport (illegally) parked, you will get in as quickly as possible.
Not saying anything to anyone, you will strap into your seat.
If he hasn't arrived yet, Olix will soon get in and also strap in.
As soon as he's done that, you will be gone, leaving the planet and getting back to the Resistance.
Good fucking riddance.
___
The moment your transport touched ground, you were scrambling out of it, afraid that if you didn't go immediately to General Organa that you would get cold feet.
