She was right, I'm gonna be late if I don't get to class.
I sit down with the empty seat left beside me. I feel a tap on my shoulder, "where's Luna?"
"She's getting ready to go home, she's not feeling well."
"Oh no," just as soon as she appeared, she's gone.
I keep watching Bella's seat, waiting for her to get back. This class is ridiculously dull without Luna.
"Ryan, will you take these worksheets to Luna for me?"
"Of course," perfect excuse to go make sure she's okay.
Ryan: I'm running to Luna's
She left early, so I'm running her her homework
Mom: OK. just be quick so you're home in time for dinner.
Ryan: you got it.
I knock quick, before walking in.
Luna comes from her room, "hey, what are you doing here?"
I'm trying to manoeuvre the work out of my bag, "our teacher sent home some work for you, honestly, I think she sent more work than we actually did today."
"Of course she did," she gives me a half smirk, looking incredibly exhausted.
"Did I wake you up?"
"Oh no, I wish I could've been sleeping." She sets down the papers, "I honestly don't know how I'll sleep tonight."
"I'm sure you'll manage. Just make some tea and try to relax. Text me if you need to."
"That's a pretty good plan."
I glance at my phone, "I should go, I love you."
"I love you, too."
She follows me to the door, "seriously text me if you need to."
"I will."
All I can do is hope that she actually tries to go to sleep and not keep herself up with whatever she starts thinking about in that moment.
