7:34pm
R: what's going on? You're staying here for almost 2 weeks?
L: my parents are home
R: oh no
L: it's alright, we can talk about it later
R: ok, I'll get the room set up for you
L: thank you
Love you
R: love you
"You really should eat," I barely hear her being zoned out.
"I'm okay, Darling, I honestly don't have an appetite."
She leans back and reaches to my hand, "I'm sorry, my love, they're the ones that messed up though, you did what you needed to."
"Yeah, you're right," I sigh, as I rest my head on her arm, "still sucks though."
"I know," she pauses for a few, "do you want to get going to Ryan's?"
"Sure," I check my phone, 9:12pm, "Ryan set up the room for us."
"That's really sweet."
"Yeah, I've stayed in it a few times, but I mostly stay in Ryan's room."
"You were allowed to stay in a boys room?"
"Yup. It was mostly when we were younger. Once we turned 14, Mr. Jeffery didn't want us in the same room, regardless of how much Mrs. Jeffery trusted us. But, when I came out as gay to them, then they weren't as worried about it." We both giggle.
As we walk up to the house, I know everyone is still up and moving since it's 9:25pm. I walk up and open the door, where we are greeted by Mrs. Jeffery.
"Hi, hun!" She immediately wraps me in a hug.
When she finally let's go, she tells us that Ryan is downstairs waiting.
"Thank you so much for this."
"Of course, Dearie. Goodnight girls," she finishes up talking as we head downstairs.
"Goodnight," I gave a quick reply as we reach the basement.
I head to the room, with Bella following behind me. I point out where the bathroom is as we walk by. When we enter the room, the light is on and Ryan is set up on the floor.
"Hey," I try and give a half assed smile, again, but I give up quite quickly after.
"Hi," Ryan is definitely like his mom, he stands up and hugs me, and his hugs are one of my favourite things in the world.
I look over at Bella, who I can tell is unsure of what to do. I point to the bed and we both sit, with Ry leaning against the wall.
"Do you want to wait to talk about what happened for tomorrow?"
"Yeah, if you don't mind."
"Okay. Let me know if you guys need anything."
"Thanks Ry."
"Of course," he leaves the room, closing the door behind him.
I stand up and glance at the bed and then at Bella, "I can set up on the floor, if you want?"
"No. It's not a big deal. Plus this bed is way bigger than the couch, and we made that work, right?"
I giggle through my words, "we did."
I flip the lamp on the night stand on, and turn off the main light. The bulb in the lamp is a much warmer tone than the over head. I sit down beside her, unsure of what we're meant to do in this situation.
I lay back, against the pillows. She proceeds to do the same. I put my arm around her, and she nestles in close. We both begin to nod off.
Bella shifts, "I love you."
I'm caught off guard, but am also happy to know she feels the same, "I love you too."
The house falls silent, as I fall asleep.
I'm awaken abruptly, not long after, by a dream of my parents. Of course the thought of them doing something to break Bella and I up, is the go to dream. My parents ruin everything, so this makes sense.
I look down at Bella, who's still asleep on my arm. I slowly move it out from under her, and head out to the main room of the basement. I turn on the t.v. but keep the volume off. I let something random play, just to keep my mind off the events of the day. While I sit on the couch, I eventually end up dosing off.
Bella wakes me up in the morning. We get dressed with the few clothes I keep in my "escape bag." While I know Ry would lend us school supplies, we use some of my notebooks for the day.
I'm distracted through most of school, which doesn't bowed well for me. It's nice at lunch. Bella, Ryan and I all have a good time hanging out, which is making it easy to ignore yesterday.
When we go inside, Ryan and I walk Bella to her class before we head to ours, "see you in a bit."
Fourth period is time for us to work on a research project, so Ryan and I sit next to each other in the computer lab, where he decides to ask me about yesterday.
"So what happened with your parents?"
"My dad brought up Bella being in my bed with me when they got home, and asked who she was. I told them she's my girlfriend, and it didn't go well after."
He rolls his eyes, "why does matter who you're with? Honestly. It's your life. They should just let you be happy."
"That would be the easy thing to do, hey?"
"Yeah, but they really don't know what the easy way is, do they?"
"Nope."
"So what'd they say after?"
"They said that I'm an embarrassment, and I basically exclaimed that they don't know what love is, and I left the room."
"Wow. Did they say anything to Bella?"
"No, which was a good choice on their end. I think they would have, if we'd stayed any longer."
"That makes sense."
We both sit and do more research, helping one another out when needed. Honestly, who needs my parents when I have someone like Ry beside me?
