Ethan

The unsettling feeling of a storm coming into our life dipped my mouth with unpleasant taste. The constant churning of my stomach grew as more distance comes in between Scarlett and I. As the seconds ticked by, a disaster seems to be awaiting at the curve end of the finish line, causing our vision to miss until it's right in front of our eyes giving us no warning to stop.

I stood in the same position Scarlett left me in with a whirlwind of thoughts and scenario forming a tornado. I ran a hand through my hair as I blew a frustrated air from my mouth.

"You don't trust this woman Lizzy?" Landon directed his question to me.

I titled my head in his direction and shook my head. "I know for the fact that it's not Hazel and if Harrison is involved, he is linked to Lizzy only."

"It could just be a co-incidence." He suggested.

"One hell of a co-incidence then, if you ask me." I scoffed.

"We should have stopped Scarlett." Will said. "Letting her go was like a letting her walk towards Hell knowing that it's filled with fire."

"You saw how stubborn she can be. No one can stop her from defending Lizzy. She is too attached to her." I explained with an angry sigh.

"What are we going to do now?" Nate asked.

"I don't know." I muttered and turned to the glass that seperated the two room. Hazel had her head facing down while Riley was looking at us.

Just then my phone rang. I quickly pulled it out with a hope that it's Scarlett. I was disappointed when it was Gwen.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Ethan!" Gwen's panic voice froze me in place.

"Gwen, what's wrong?" I asked, urgently. Will was by my side within a second. He urged me to put the call on speaker.

"I'm so sorry, Ethan. I made a mistake. I don't know how I missed this out." Gwen cried through the phone.

"What are you saying?" I questioned, confuse. When she spoke quickly and stumbled over her words, preventing us from understanding anything, I stopped her. "Gwen, calm down. I cannot understand a single word you are saying. Take a breath and then explain."

"Ethan, I was looking for those three guys who had beaten Scarlett. I-I found them–" I cut her off.

"That's great. They will lead us to the main culprit. I'll inform Riley and–" I marveled.

"Ryan is already on it." She cut me off hurriedly.

We all turned towards the interrogation room and sure Riley was on a call. He quickly stood up and rushed out of the room, startling Hazel who sat straight.

"Ethan, that's not what I called you for," Gwen started again. "Eric hacked into one of the cameras that had a lead to where Sophia found Scarlett and those three guys were found with Harrison, but that's not it. He was with a woman."

"It has to be Lizzy. Who else could it be!" I said, getting a bit excited now that we have enough proof to catch Lizzy.

"No!" Gwen screamed. "I told you it's not Lizzy because it's not her, Ethan!"

"What?" I stopped.

"Who is it, Gwen?" Will asked when he realised that I wasn't going to.

"It was an older woman. I caught her face and we tried to match it." Gwen suddenly stopped.
