3rd POV

"What do you mean that you both have been in a relationship for some time now?" Allison asked bewildered at her newfound discovery of Layla, Lydia's older sister, and her dad Chris together.

Allison sighed as she looked around, "Have you told Mom, does she know?"

Chris looked down and shook his head as Allison continued, "That's...unfortunate."

Allison turned to face Layla, "Why would you even participate in something like this, knowing that he's still technically in a relationship with someone else?"

"I didn't.." Layla started but stopped, looking at Chris helplessly.

"You have a few days to tell her or I will do it for you." Allison looked between the two and walked out of the house with her eyes watering as she went.

time skip

It was a couple of days later and Allison, along with her parents, sat at the table eating with not much talking going on. After the moment that she caught onto Chris and Layla's relationship, she steered clear of the two of them; not only because of her anger but because of the fact she couldn't stand to be around her mother either with the knowledge she was holding. The secret was eating her alive and Victoria took notice but Allison always talked her out of being worried.

The sound of Chris placing down his silverware brought Allison out of her daze as she looked at him, his facial expression showing slight sadness that of course bothered her, "I have something to tell the both of you."

Victoria looked at Chris, almost expectantly, "What is it you have to say?"

"I.." Chris paused to take a breather before speaking again, "I've been seeing someone for quite some time now."

"Who?" Victoria's voice boomed and Allison focused on her plate of food again, pushing it around.

"Layla."

Victoria's expression hardened, "So.." She pushed her food around her plate, "That's why Allison has been off lately, huh?" She scoffed before she looked at Chris again.

Allison spoke up to defend herself, "Mom, I wanted to tell you everything but I just wanted for Dad to be the one who did and I just found out about it myself." Allison took hold of Victoria's hand, "I'm sorry."

Victoria gave a tight-lipped smile, "It's okay, Allison. It's not your fault."

"That's not the only thing."

Victoria and Allison turned their heads simultaneously, hoping that what he was about to say wasn't what they were thinking, "She's pregnant."

Allison's eyes widened and she tilted her head to make sure she heard him right, "Wait what?"

Victoria stood quickly from her chair and walked out of the room, Allison went to go after her but Chris' hand took hold of her arm, "Let go of me!"

"Allison, I never meant for it to happen this way. I didn't want to hurt the two of you."

She let out an annoyed laugh, "Well it's too late for that now, isn't it?" She gave him a disgusted look and walked away, leaving Chris in a troubled state.
