Leo's pov:

My office, while temporary, was still extravagant in its own way. It didn't compare to my usual one, however this provided to be sufficient enough.

I collapsed onto the chair next to the desk and quickly flicked through the documents, Lucas Katz had made on the movements of the Hyacinths.

Chase, however started messing around, touching everything he could in sight. Evidently distracting me.

"Chase. I swear to fucking Satan, if you don't sit you ass down on a chair or something ill break your legs." I warned

Chase looked up at me, startled.

"Jeeeeezz, who got you in a bad mood, huh? Also why Satan? out of all the people you chose my cousin." he joked, well I mean I wasn't entirely sure if he was joking or not, Chase sometimes did make me consider the fact that he may be related to Satan in a way.

"Just sit down." I ordered.

"Yes, sirrr!" he complied, and sat down on the chair opposite mine at the desk.

I carried on looking through the documents, when I finished i handed it over to Chase.

This was bad. The Hyacinths were definitely planning something. The question was, what? Their moves were far to erratic and strange, for them to simply be doing their own business. From the looks of it they wanted to take us down.

I didn't know if i should welcome the petty scheme they bought on, or to easily crush them. No, that wouldn't work. Last time I crushed an insignificant mafia down, no one wanted to do business with us. Fucking cowards. They were to scared to anger me.

Chase chuckled darkly, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"What?" I asked he definitely knew something,

"Isn't it simple? Their targeting Cardan, Weapons trade." he said darkly.

I looked up at him, confused. How the hell did he come up with that? Chase, while acting dumb for most of the time, was an extremely intelligent person. He looked at me as if i were stupid. God he needed a punch in the face.

"Hyacinths movements seem erratic and strange? Am I right?" i slowly nodded, it was as if he could read my mind. "They aren't." he concluded.

"Meaning?" I countered.

"Meaning, they have a perfect plan and each move they make is carefully calculated." he spat. "in fact, it reminds me exactly of Aaron Vincent's moves, if only he were alive." Chase seemed to find the last part hilarious.

Because Chase killed Aaron Vincent 2 years ago.

I looked up at chase pacing in the room, a total contrast to his usual calm demeanour. "Its not simple dealing. All of the places, all of the deals. They create a bigger picture, one i cant paint out just yet, but hes heading for cardan first."

"How?" I asked, thoroughly confused.

"Their going to become The Heart's main buyer." He said looking at me.

"As if we would let that happen." I scoffed

"We wouldn't. Unless we were driven into the corner, and had to." he said bitterly.

"How on earth would they achieve that?" I asked confused, we were the most powerful mafia, it seemed ridiculous to even think that another small and weak mafia could ever try to hurt us.

"I'm not sure, and to be honest that's what I'm looking forward to." he had his intrigued smirk on his face. He was enjoying this. Chase loved things like this, he loved playing this game of chess that only he knew how to play. Chess in his head that had no rules, but to win.
