Aria's Pov:
It hadn't changed a bit.
The mansion still stood tall, and towered over everything, making us look rather insignificant, it was that or perhaps the memories I had of this place that made me feel insignificant.
The two stone sculptures of the snakes on either side of the entrance to the mansion, that had a large corridor, shrouded with hedges that turned it into an almost maze like appearance.
I smirked.
It literally was a maze though. Those who had never been here would almost indefinitely get lost.
It was a way so that people couldn't just turn up at the mansion. They had to be greeted by Aiden or his second hand, if he had one, which I wasn't sure if he did. They were the only 2 that should know the exact way through the maze. That and me.
"Were going to have to wait for Aiden to come and get us." Oliver grumbled.
"Orrr," I turned "We could just go through, I know the way."
Oliver scoffed. "So your telling me that you know the Rousseau's greatest secret that they ever have? No one except Aiden knows the way."
"Have some faith in me Verb, some faith is all I ask." I countered. "Stick close, if touch something wrong then at least half the serpents will be onto us."
"S-SERPENTS?" Oliver horrified spluttered
"I don't think we should trust her Isaiah." One of the twins piped up.
"Agreed Isaiah." The other whispered, loud enough for me to hear.
"Shut up both of you." Vivienne rolled her eyes "Are their really Serpents in here?"
I blinked in surprise. "You didn't know that this maze was full of them? It's so that it keeps outsiders away. Anyways. Keep close and hands to yourself."
I grinned at all of them as I stepped into the maze, they followed cautiously behind. Left, left, right, left, right, left again and that was where we reached the halfway point.
I remembered these snakes, the Rousseau's insignia. It was a fitting symbol to represent them after all.
Snakes that infiltrate and draw out information. Snakes that are ruthless and know how to use information to either get what they need or get closer to what they needed.
I swallowed as I passed them, there was something that always made me uneasy about them, even now.
I walked on ahead, quickly, my main goal was just in front of me. God I couldn't wait to meet Perry. Then Left again, God why were there so many lefts?
Right, left, right, right.
"You alright?" Oliver asked concerned.
"Nothing's changed. Not one bit." I replied
