פרק 26: וויל

"אתם מתרגשים לקראת סוף השנה?" ליילה שאלה את ריבר ואותי. ישבנו בחצר בית הספר, מדברים על נשף הסיום שהתקרב.

"בצורה חלקית..." אמרתי. לא ייחסתי לסוף השנה יותר מידי חשיבות.

"קצת, יש לכם תוכניות למה שתעשו אחרי הלימודים?" ריבר שאל.

"עדיין לא, לא חשבתי על זה עדיין." ליילה אמרה והביטה בי. "ומה איתך?"

"כנראה שאני אלך לאוניברסיטה." אמרתי.

ריבר חייך. "גם אני, אבל זה עדיין לא בטוח."

"אם אנחנו כבר מדברים על הנשף, יש לכם משהו ללבוש?" ליילה שאלה.

"אני חושב שיש לי משהו..." ריבר אמר.

"וויל?" ליילה הביטה בי.

"אני יכול לשים על עצמי משהו מהארון?" ספק אמרי ספק שאלתי.

"זה נשף וויל! אתה לא יכול להיות שם עם בגדי יומיום! בבקשה תגיד לי שיש לך לפחות בגד חגיגי אחד." ליילה אמרה כאילו מדובר בנשק שיציל את האנושות ממתקפת חייזרים.

"זאת בדיוק הבעיה, אני לא חושב שיש לי." אמרתי בהתנצלות.

וכך יצאתי למסע מיותר בקניון ביחד עם ריבר וליילה.

"אתה מוכן לצאת החוצה בבקשה?" ליילה שאלה.

"לא! זה מביך מידי!" מחיתי. למה הסכמתי לה לעזור לי עם בחירת בגדים?!

"וויל, זה לא יכול להיות עד כי כך גרוע." ריבר ניסה לשכנע אותי.

"ועליך אני הכי לא סומך!" מהכרות עם ריבר הייתה לי הרגשה שהוא מחכה מחוץ לתא ההלבשה עם מצלמה.
