DAY 115, SATURDAY, JANUARY
S: I haven't seen R in a while.
T: Me neither. Strange.
S: Yeah, they usually work anytime they can. Maybe they have a week off?
T: Didn't they have that, like, a month ago?
S: I don't remember. I don't keep tracks of other's weeks off.
T: Hmm.
S: Well if it isn't my new old friend!
H: Hi.
T: Hey. Long time no see.
H: It has been a while.
S: Welcome back. We're fortunate enough to have our dinner break together.
T: We're enjoying it before all hell breaks loose tonight.
H: All hell?
S: See that pallet over there? With the red crates?
T: All of that needs to get done.
S: Plus the two pallets behind it. It's us three plus the assistant manager.
H: Well, they're nice. Right? At least from what I've experienced.
T: They're fine, yeah. But you'll see the further we get into the evening, the more stressed they'll be.
S: There's no way we can do all of that work in... what's left? Two hours? Two and a half?
T: Oh, I'm already assuming we'll be here longer than that.
S: So it's good to have you. I first thought it would be the two of us with the assistant manager.
H: Luckily not.
S: For us at least.
H: Yeah, I'm not sure if I like all the work standing there.
T: Here, have a seat.
H: Thanks.
S: Since when are you so nice to people? Giving chairs and everything? I can't remember you ever doing that for me.
T: Well, get used to it.
S: A new you? What for?
T: Just because. Anyway, back to the topic we were on.
S: What were we talking about?
T: R's absence.
S: Right.
T: You look a little lost, H.
H: I don't work that many hours a week here, R has been gone?
S: We don't know about gone, but they haven't been here.
H: Aha.
T: Which is strange, because they're here a lot.
S: I haven't heard anything from them.
T: Me neither.
S: Do you think K would know what's up?
T: Probably. Should we text them?
S: We could. But what if R hasn't told us anything on purpose? Like, what if it's really personal? I'd feel bad for demanding an explanation.
T: True.
S: I do want to know, though.
T: What a dilemma!
S: Exactly. Let's wait for another week or so.
