DAY 279, THURSDAY, JULY

K: It's been a while.

H: What's been a while?

K: Since we've seen each other.

H: You're right. It's been a while.

K: You've been good I assume?

H: Yeah. You?

K: Great. Did you have exams?

H: I did.

K: And?

H: I graduated.

K: Congrats! I'm proud of you.

H: Thank you, thank you.

K: Did you have to work hard for it?

H: Not really. School was rather easy.

K: Oh, okay.

H: That's not how I meant it.

K: Sure, sure.

H: It was difficult in the sense that I didn't have much motivation.

K: You didn't have a goal?

H: No.

K: Well, what are you going to college for?

H: Nothing, actually. I'm taking a gap year.

K: That's cool. By the way, did you hear about L?

H: Who's L?

K: T's sibling. Apparently they're joining the store.

H: Really?

K: Yeah. I'm thinking of throwing a hangout together to celebrate.

H: That's nice.

K: Exactly what I thought. I don't know when they start, though. I'll have to ask T.

H: Yeah.

K: Or do you think- wait. S!

S: What?! Why are you yelling?

K: Do you know when L starts?

S: Who's that?

K: Probably no then.

S: What? Wait I'll come over to you.

K: Oh, you don't need to-

S: Hey, what's up?

K: L is T's sibling. They're joining.

S: Oh, I didn't know that. Why would you scream at me for that from across the stockroom?

K: I was just wondering if you knew about it.

S: Well, I'm done within five minutes and then I can go so if you don't mind...

K: Why are you still here? Go and work hard so you can celebrate your freedom.

S: Thanks.

K: So a hangout would be nice, right?

H: Yeah, I think they'd appreciate it.

K: Good. I'll see what I can manage to get done. Do you want to come?

H: Depends on when it is.

K: I'll text you.

H: Thanks.

K: Now, I need to get started. How much longer are you on break?

H: I can go home, actually.

K: Lucky.
